And I have met with parents and wives and husbands who have received a folded flag, and said a final goodbye to a soldier they loved. I am awed that so many have used those meetings to say that I am in their prayers — to offer encouragement to me. Where does strength like that come from? How can people so burdened with sorrow also feel such pride? It is because they know their loved one was last seen doing good. Because they know that liberty was precious to the one they lost. And in those military families, I have seen the character of a great nation: decent, and idealistic, and strong.

I barely made it through this.

Talking about Flight 93 always gets
me. Something about common people
facing certain death brings out my

I have a couple friends and cousins over there too. I'm not poo pooing his speech or anything like that. Just saying that it didn't get me emotionally worked up. Mostly my reaction was just "glad to hear the man in charge thinks that way".

Okay.  I didn't mean to come across as harsh.  As I get older though, since having kids and especially since my dad died, I tend to get emotional at the thought of kids left without a father.  It always hits me hard.

It definitely was moving.  How can people say he sucks as a speaker?  He may mispronounce some stuff, but the meaning always comes through.  To me, that is honesty.  And that's what we need.  A moral compass and some honesty.

I was not crying, my eyeballs were sweating. When his eyes start watering and you can see the muscles in his face changing, i get emotional too! But it is like a moral shot in the arm for me as well, leaving me overflowing with courage and pride.

...........Then John Kerry came out at midnight with his bs speech. He gave the same exact speech today in another part of Ohio. Lying about what the president said, about Kerry's record. He sure as hell isn't going to publicly address anything Zell Miller said at the convention, because it is true.

I'm tired of Ohio being a "battleground state". I can't watch network tv without seeing two Kerry adds in ten minutes...
