Likely something to do with the fake bombs found on UPS planes earlier. State Dept. says it's an Al Quida dry run. I am skeptical about the value of the dry run part. If BGswent through th trouble of coordinating this sort of action, and were able to exploit a weakness that allowed them to place fake bombs on planes, then I have to guess they would have sent real ones instead. After all, a dry run would probably be forever dry in this case, as the weakness will now be closed. I bet the Dems whose seats are threatened have their anti-Al Quada I'm your protector so re-elect us or else speeches at ready even as we sit here. Hmmmm. I wonder if some of had them ready long before this................ How many are just really NOT suprised at this?

Per Fox News, the FBI says there is no known threat aboard this flight and that they are escorting it just out of an abundance of caution.
That said, I'm sure there are lots of international flights inbound to the U.S., so why was this specific flight picked for escorting? It seems there is some reason and that this isn't just something totally random. Maybe there's one or more people aboard who have drawn the attention of authorities? BTW, with so much activity going on today across the country involving aircraft and suspicious packages throughout American cities, you have to wonder if this goes beyond a simple dry run and consider the possibility that this is actually a "diversion". We only have so many resources and can't guard and secure everything. If Al-Qaida can get us tied down chasing wild geese, perhaps their real target will be left wide open. |

cnn says that they found the package in England based off of a tip, and not a random check. So it seems to me the terrorists intentionally burned this, whatever it is.
Dry run, (or not dry, depending on how you look at it. After something like this maybe the airlines will take another hit like they did after 9/11 bombs or no bombs) to see how it is responded to, and inflict damage on the first responders if it goes down for real. |
