I tried to asked this at www.l1a1.com but they never responded to the question. First off where is the cheapest place to buy them at I know in DSA catalog they have them for $995 and I have seen them in SGN for $795 is there any place that is cheaper or is the $795 the best price that I'm going to find for it. Next is there any type of ammo that the STG58 does not like at all. Last what is the average STG58 M.O.A Thanks for the help. Blackgrub out.

Tayous1 is that you? $795 is the dealer price on the gun--you won't get any better than that. The accuracy of the rifle depends on lots of things--optics vs. open sights, ammo used, the shooter, etc. An STG-58 is probably capable of about 1 MOA (about 1" at 100yds) with good, solidly mounted optics, good ammo, and a competent shooter from a solid rest. Some of the rifles might be much more accurate off the rack, some might suck. A good FAL gunsmith might be able to improve enough to make a consistent .75 MOA rifle, but the design is a battle rifle, not a sniper rifle. AFARR

I ordered and received mine 2 weeks ago or so. I had a gun buddy ffl order it for me and it was $795.00. This gun is made from an all matching, Excellent condition Austrian or Belgium STG58. They refinsh everything and the gun comes looking brand new. Let me repeat that, *Brand New*!!! The gun is beautiful and a bargain. BUY IT NOW! [8D]

This info. may be of value. Concerning pricing, I build FALs but as a FALsmith, I do not attempt to compete with companies that assemble rifles as ship them out by thousands. That is a business unto itself, but not my business. I take a FAL and accurize it. Generally, FALs are 3-4" moa rifles. A "stock" FAL that shoots a true 1" moa is uncommon, regardless of what an individual weapon may do. The "best" scope mount depends upon what you want to FAL to do. I limit my work to FALs that are expected to shoot sub MOA groups. Sub .5 moa are not uncommon, with .375 being my all time best. I have a web site with photos and details for the person whom wants more info. Thanks for reading this post. Sincerely, RT FAL Specialists http://www.geotec.net/taylorwkrs taylorwkrs@geotec.net

AFARR no this is not Tayous1. I saw him/her talking about it on this site and I saw that no one had talked of the price and I thought If a Ar-15 site was talking about the STG58 and a L1A1 site was not then I should ask here. Blackgrub out.

DSA. You gotta have the FFL lined up first and have him call or fax and tell DSA it is ok to deal direct with you. Then you call and do the deal yourself. That way you can get the $200 dealer discount. I had been thinking about this for several months but wanted the muzzle brake issue resolved cuz I wanted the original one and I wanted to get closer to my $300 tax rebate. Do it. Do it. Do it now. I could've sworn I saw these questions asked and I'm sure I helped answer at least one of them. Best place to order one is direct from the source. If you're in IL and don't want to pay sales tax, Federal Arms also offers it at the dealer price of $795. But I don't know if they'd allow you to pay for it and ship to your FFL.
