Bottom right as you scroll down there's a poll asking whether the police were justified, which they OBVIOUSLY WERE NOT.

KILL THE POLL.

sad. even though 81% of folks are normal, there's at least 21k people that think it was justified.

I had no idea that LEO's and their families comprised 19% of the population...

Voted and it looks like the family is considering sueing the department.  I'm not a lawyer or anything but it seems to me that they might be able to file some kind of criminal charges against the officer too.

The family usually can't file criminal charges.  A lawsuit is just about all they can do if the state doesn't bring charges.  But trust me, that family is going to clean up!  I can't imagine the state of TN allowing it to go to trial.  Figure a $2 million settlement if they have good attorneys.  At trial they can wait up to 10 years for a settlement and then they'd have to get the judgment.  I'm betting they'll settle.

In the meanwhile, I've been hoping to see someone step up and donate a new dog to them or atleast offer.

Has anyone besides me seen the police car video from this? The dog comes running up wagging its tail and get a shot to the head!!! Maybe it's only being televised here in TN.

Tu Puck was put down, this dog was murdered.  I also do not doubt the accounts that said the cop laughed after he shot their family member (dog).

If you haven't guessed it already, I love dogs, especially Super C.

However, this muther fucker only has my contempt:

It's too bad public flogging is no longer allowed.  If I were king, he would be flogged and released.  Then flogged again 30 days later for good measure.

This is a perfect example of how moron police cause more lawyers to be involved.  If you think this is over with you are deluded.

The police used an animal to attack the man, because a clerk thought he might have stolen a pack of cigarettes!  That's excessive.  I saw one tear into a guy's throat, and he almost bled to death.  If those were the type of violent animals you dealt with on a regular basis as a cop, wouldn't you rather be safe than sorry?  The cops screwed-up when they left the door to the car open, but you never know what an animal is going to do, especially with its owner(s) in distress.z

I was going to watch it...but then my better judgement got the better of me.  As a lover of pooches and after reading all about what "apparently" happened, I decided to forego the video.  Call me mister chicken.

Wonder what will happen?  I know one thing...I'd be seriously looking for a land shark bottom feeding lawyer if I were that man.

Finally...just imagine what would happen if one of us "citizens" popped a police dog that was attacking us, and we were totally innocent of all charges.  I just wonder if we would see the next sunrise.

maybe the story is a hoax, however I think the police over reacted, if I were the family I would hire a lawyer and sew the shit out of the police.

Just saw the video on the local news here in Memphis.  Unbelieveable

The family should have never been pulled over.

If I were the family I would go after this and drive it to the hilt.

I feel a LEO has the right to protect himself and i have no problem with a officer shooting a dog as long as the officer can see that the dog is a threat.  A human is more important than a dog.  At least most are....

But to shoot a dog because it MIGHT be a threat ?  Definately needs to be regulated to a desk job.  Just take the weapon away and give him a pen and a desk.  Don't fire him.

If you fire him then he will be forgotten.

Keep him there as a reminder....

Sue the shit out of the city, county, whatever!
