Here's a chicken I cooked tonight with the roasting rack from Bass Pro Shops.  Workds just like the tall Bud cans but you use a regular 12oz one.

All that charred shit on the outside of the bird is carcinogenic anyway, and you're worried about a few "paint" chips?

All that's missing is:

A) a plate

B) a police-band/radio scanner

C) a crate of M193

and last but not least,

D) an economy-sized box of Trojans [:D]

What's the deal?

Do you just pop the tab on the beer, stuff the bird on top of it and as it cooks the beer boils out and seasons the bird?

Is that the jist of it?

Yep, but you drink half the beer first.  You can use this roaster in the oven or charcoal or gas grill w/indirect heat.  It was only $10

After you drink half the beer, adding some onion to the can makes it tastier too.

I like to season the chicken with some salt, white pepper, chili powder, sweet paprika, sugar, and a touch of garlic powder. Then I stick it on the beer can, and use the chicken legs to form a tripod to stand it up on the grill. I don't use a roasting rack.
