Die hard needs us guys what do you all say we start a fund for him and his wife?
As most of you know his wife is battling cancer and in times of need we need to reach out to our fellow brothers and sisters. I dont have much but i know that every little bit adds up so together im sure we can make a difference |
I'm good for a check. I need an addy to send funds too. My mom died of cancer 5 years ago and the support from friends and family is so important.
Die Hard lives in St Louis,if this is true and he needs something like a ride to the hospital or something else please email me I'll help if I can.I could not imagine going through this with my wife, shes the best person I know.
God Bless you and your faimly Die Hard |
When the address is determined, I will send a money order too.
If he is in the St Louis area, someone close to him should set up a Pay-pal account for him. Donations can the be sent using email. If someone sets this up I'll contribute.

How about this -
Die-hard mentioned that he might have to sell his AR. that would only be insult to injury here. How about we go the PayPal route, collect enuf money to buy his AR from him, and have say Ed Avila Sr (sorry to volunteer you Ed) hold it until an appropriate time to return it to him (so he doesn't feeel the need to sell it "again.") BTW, you're NOT allowed to shoot it, Ed [:D] If the PayPal account is set up, then I'm in. |
I can't give much, but I'll give what I can spare. Give me an addy.
E-mail is in profile if you need to contact me. |
I'd be totally willing to help out Die-Hard with some monetary support. Living in New York, there's not much else I can do to help. Even the idea put forth by garandman sounds decent. If you guys figure out a way to set up some kind of fund to help he and his family out, count me in.

Hey guys,
As soon as I read of the situation with Die-Hard' wife, I began to make plans so that we could all show our support. I sent an Email to our webmaster for some input, but haven't gotten a reply yet. I have lost both of my parents to cancer, and I really want to help this family. Here is what I wrote: Dear Sir, I believe that here at AR-15.com, we are all brothers in arms, so to speak – if not “cyber friends”. I know that so many of us have dealt with losing a loved one to cancer, and we all can relate to the pain of the Thurman family. Since there are so many members here who would be willing to help aleviate the burden on the Thurman family, I think it would be foolish not to do something to help them. I have a couple of proposals that I believe would be worth considering: It would be nice to be able to send cards and letters of support to the Thurmans. Although the message board is nice, I think it would be much better for Mr. & Mrs. Thurman to receive the “paper mail”, because I believe nothing helps you feel better in times such as knowing, and seeing just how much people care. Of course we wouldn’t want the Thurman’s address all over the internet, so I would have no problem at all setting up a P.O. box, so we could keep this as private for them as possible. A small P.O. Box is relatively inexpensive, (here in Indiana it is about $40.00 per year) and I myself would be willing to donate the money to do that. We could ask Mr. Thurman if he would like to have one set up in his hometown, so that he may receive the mail himself. Or, have another individual (perhaps a friend, or the AR-15.com webmaster) whom Mr. Thurman could feel comfortable with giving his address set up the P.O. Box in their hometown, and after collecting so many letters/cards at a time, ship them to the Thurmans. Also, I believe we should set up a donation for the Thurman family, using the same method as sending mail. Have a date set when we will stop taking donations, and then pass along the funds to the Thurmans in the form of a single check from “The Members Of AR-15.com” and enclose a list of all those who donated (not showing the amount, to keep everything neutral, of course). I hope that you give my suggestions considerable thought, and reply with your own thoughts & views. Thank you for your time. Eric (tylerdurden1201) Since I already see that people are willing to help, I figured I may as well just post my ideas and find out what you guys think? |
I'm in on anything we can do. I also live in St. Louis, and would be more than willing to help in any way I can. I don't have a lot of money, but a bunch of us together can put some together. I'll also volunteer for anything he needs doing to help.

My fellow Marines and...yeah, yeah, I'll include you SQUIDS as well, will probably agree--This is a heck of a lot better than the "Navy Relief Society". Semper Fi |

I´m in. Die-Hard, you can be sure having your brothers in arms at your side.
Whoever is in Mo. Should do the PO Box Route for Die Hard. Try to make it in his home town so he can make a stop to the PO Box. If you want you can do the AR thing too. I would not want to sell my Arms either. So whoever has the connections get together and set it up. I am in NY and don't know how to set these things up so far away from me. May the Lord Bless you all and Die Hard The Lord Loves you. The Bible say all good things come from God. I am in for some bucks too. Lougotzz

I have Jerry's address...
Since I've been programming fanatically the past few days for the "2001 Limited Edition" rifle website, I'll go ahead and include a section on the ordering page to accept donations for him and others out there with similar needs. I know there are many out there that are in a very difficult bind financially, due to medical or other unforseen situations. I feel we should contribute not to just one person, but to a living "fund" that can be used to help many. Another example is a "brother-in-arms" in Florida that has lost all of his firearms due to a restraining order from a divorce and custody battle -- his legal expenses are beyond his financial ability to fight this order. I'll do my part to program, collect the funds, and administer the account. |

I'm in. I can't and won't "pass by on the other side".
Anti, it's good to know there will be a central location for the funds. Thanks for getting it set up. |
This is by far the best use of internet bandwidth I've encountered yet. Please send me an e-mail when this is ready to go. I can spare a few bux.

When it has been decided on how we are going to do this, please let us know.
I would love to do what I can to help out our fellow member. thanks[:)] |
I have it all setup and programmed...
It is all setup on the "Group Purchase" order form, and donations can be made in $10 increments, by selecting the quantity (1=$10, 2=$20, etc). I also have everything all programmed so that the donations are all non-taxable, when figuring the total sum. |
anti,
help me out here...where is the group order purchase form? duh. [BD] ..or group purchase order form. maybe thats why i cant find it. |
Okay I'll BTT.
How can those of us unfortunate enough to not be in the group purchase contribute? I'm sure it'll be a "duuhh" thing, but someone has to ask it. [:I] |
Okay, here's the duuhh factor.
Visit AntiUSSA's website, www.castle-arms.com/, and open up the order form on the left hand menu. Down towards the bottom is a listing for "Brothers in Arms". That's the place. |
