By phone at 1-877-NRA-2000.

The recording says they're backed up because of Frances (the center is in FL) but I got through in less than 2 minutes.

Got the membership for $500.00 (published price is $750.00)

Made sure I told them why I was signing up now (AWB sunset) but will follow up with an e-mail.

Maybe I should send Fineswine a letter annoucing the fact that her FAILURE has lead to another LIFETIME NRA member?

ETA:

Copy of e-mail sent to NRA as a "Thank You"

Good Afternoon!

I just wanted to advise you that I signed up for a NRA Life Membership about 10 minutes ago.

I feel it is important that you know I did this in recognition for the efforts you put forth on ending the Federal “Assault Weapons” ban.

I know that the sunsetting of this ban will have zero effect on me as I live in California, but its passage represents a great victory for law-abiding gun owners in the vast majority of America. We are all in this fight together.

We have other battles ahead (besides keeping another “Assault Weapons” style ban off the books). Many of the people that I communicate with on the Internet are looking forward to not only seeing a SCOTUS ruling on whether the Second Amendment is an individual right but rollbacks of the 1989 Import Ban, the 1968 Machine Gun Ban and ultimately the overturn of the National Firearms Act of 1934.

We also would like to see action taken on passage of Nationwide CCW taken as a possible next step in restoring the rights of law-abiding Americans.

Big goals to be sure but necessary ones if we are to regain the freedoms that our Founding Fathers risked all for. The NRA and the other “Gun Rights” organizations have shown their worth in keeping the politicians in Washington at bay. It's painfully obvious that without loud and persistent voices like NRA's, these so called “servants of the People” would ride even more roughshod over those that they claim serve.

Thank you again for fighting the good fight and proving, that sometimes, the good guys actually DO win!

Signed,

<Airwolf>

Congratulations. Welcome to the club.

They have discounted special Life Time membership offers from time to time. I wish more people would take advantage of it.

I've got about 3 more years to pay on mine.

That's great news. Thank you for supporting the NRA and our defense of freedom!

I've been a Life Member for 7 years now. I'm proud to say that in any crowd.

Congratulations.

Well done!

I joined for life earlier this year. Around 250-300 total cost when you get a NRA Visa card + a certain # of points.

Anyone else use this 'special' to get Life? Is it still ongoing for others?

Been a member of CRPA for a couple of years now (and GOA and GOC as well)

Good for you! Money well spent.

If you got some extra funds, dont forget about the GOA. They are the teeth of the movement.

Their life membership ($500 and a payment plan) comes with (or did when I did it) with free training.

You know, it doesn't matter how many times you proofread something you ALWAYS miss something unless someone else checks your work.

That's awesome Airwolfe, welcome to the club.

For any diabled veteran ther NRA offers a $365 lifetime membership under the title of "Distinguished Life Member" or something damn close to those words.

I just renewed for 2 more years last month. I am already a life member of the GOA, and they are more in line with my views on the Second Amendment than the NRA is, but the NRA is our 800 pund gorilla!

Welcome aboard!
