Man, I'm just a poor immigrant trying to get an education.

Hopefully there will be deals next year when I finish my MBA, that'll be a nice graduation present for myself.

Very tempting though, I impulse bought an AI AX338 that was on a fire sale a couple of years ago.
Link Posted: 4/5/2017 10:12:10 AM EDT
This is so tempting...

I have the money. But my local 600 yard range doesn't allow .50's...
Link Posted: 4/5/2017 10:23:56 AM EDT
I need a new carry piece.

Was thinking about getting one of the M&P Shield rebate deals, but this might fit the bill nicely.

The M82A1 is a must have in any hunters gun collection.

Because you never know when a deer wearing body armor carrying your TV runs into an abandoned warehouse.

Fuuuuuuuck!!!

I got all my spare cash tied up in a car :(
Link Posted: 4/5/2017 10:33:36 AM EDT
Pull out of your 401k if necessary!!!!!!
Link Posted: 4/5/2017 10:36:26 AM EDT
Pretty awesome deal actually.  I've always thought I'd pony up for an M107 instead, but a savings of $5k will definitely make you think twice
Link Posted: 4/5/2017 10:40:45 AM EDT
I asked for a quote, just for giggles. $6,850.

Now I'm thinking about it.

WHY AM I THINKING ABOUT IT?
Link Posted: 4/5/2017 10:57:50 AM EDT
Thanks!

another couple of years ( barring a windfall of some kind, that will move the date up ), and I will be jumping on one of these barrett deals like this.

Now that's investing in precious metals!
Link Posted: 4/5/2017 11:07:46 AM EDT
Hmm...Do want...
Link Posted: 4/5/2017 11:09:51 AM EDT
Im a buyer at 5k. It gets that low, Ill buy it on one rewards card and transfer it to a zero percent card to pay off.
Figure 1.5% rewards and a 2% bt fee means only .5% would be the actual out of pocket finance cost. So like 25 bucks to finance myself?

I remember when Barrett 82a1's were $4500-$5000 back in the day then the mil started buying them and the prices suddenly when up and up..Its a sheet metal gun with a barrel and some springs. Its a $3500 gun.
Link Posted: 4/5/2017 11:14:19 AM EDT
When they hit $4k, let me know.
Link Posted: 4/5/2017 12:00:23 PM EDT

I had one back in the day and wound up selling it. Kinda regretted it cause 2 years later the CA 50bmg ban went into place. It's an iconic gun and looks badass but I would never pay over $7k for another one. Barrett screwed up by not offering a 50DTC chambered one for the Cali folk.

Want so bad.

No range to pop it off on.

Still considering.

Realize optic would add thousands more.

Still considering.

Realize ammunition is very expensive.

Still considering.

Realize would need to buy cool ammunition like AP/API/Tracer, which would add even more cost.

Still considering.

Realize magazines are comically expensive, and I'd want like 10.

Still considering.

Realize would need a supressor, adding thousands more cost.

Still considering.

Realize they are not a particularly accurate weapon, even when I do get a chance to shoot it.

Still considering.

Have no use for anti-materiel rifle.

Still considering.

WHY DO I HAVE THIS DISEASE?

WHY?

Damnit! I blew most of my gun budget buying a Bushmaster 50 cal bolt action a couple months ago and now this pops up for only ~$2k more... Might have to sell some night vision / thermal stuff...
