Watching "Inside Politics" on the Communist News Network and they are all talking about gas prices, and how the gov't should get involved and impose price controls and various socialist policies.
Then they are talking about the tax cut and the budget, and the demo-socialists are going through the roof about letting US keep OUR money.
Then they are talking about the UN and how the House voted to withhold money from the UN because of the loss of a seat on the UN Human Rights Commission, and of course the demo-socialists, including Colin Powell and the Bush Administration(go figure[:O]), are going through the roof again because it hampers the goal of tyranny and one world government.

Price controls.  Great idea.  Worked so well in the California electricity market, didn't it?

I wish we could force people into economics classes the way they're forced into diversity seminars.

Without price controls, gas and electricity is expensive, but at least it's available.  Not only that, but the high prices give producers incentive to produce more.

With price controls, there's no incentive to produce more of the scarce commodity.  People buy it up and you experience shortages.  Even if you're willing to pay a lot for the commodity, it's not available.

Jimmy Carter enacted price controls on petroleum, which is why there were gas lines in the 70's.

I think we should stop helping other countries out all together.  All we seem to get done is digging a deeper hole with how people feel about the US.  Whenever we help some other country we end up getting screwed over with american casualties or them claiming we did something wrong.
