YEA!

I made E2 tonight, 3 nights before shipping out, my first promotion. Supposedly will get to wear my stripe during OSUT. Woohoo!

Also had the company commander there and the LT. Col. there as well. That was intresting.

That is all.

EDIT: Rather than start a new post, I figured I would just post here. Leaving for OSUT noon tomorrow, computer plug gets pulled tonight or in the morning. Off to Ft. LWood for MP OSUT.

Cyall round, and 82nd....see if you can sweet talk an airborne liason to come out and look at me and give me jump school!!!

I made E-2 from E1 on the day I graduated AIT.

It's automatic after 6 months.
I only had to wait 4 months myself.

I'm starting to wonder if they changed the automatic promotion due to Iraq or not.

Anyway, congrats on your first official Promotion. I was too busy traveling to my first Duty Post to celebrate my promotion. Plus I had a cast on my foot due to a sprained ankle.

Enjoy the extra moola.

You shoulda taken ROTC in high school. It earns you stripes if you enlist. (2 years, 1 stripe, 3 years, 2 stripes)

I was an E-3 when I ENTERED Basic Training!

But, congratulations! May it be the first of a long line of promotions for you, below the zone and well earned!

Awesome, we should hook up after I get out of training, if the oportunity presents itself.

cmjohnson: As of high school, I wasnt intrested in enlisting...well, I was, but I had a very serious girlfriend, planning on getting hitched. Didnt want to do that to a new marriage. But when that didnt happen, I got intrested in military again, shopped around, and ended up in the Army.

Oh, and my school didnt offer ROTC. :-(
