For Christmas my brother purchased a base Garmin e-tex for me. It's the little yellow one you see at Wallyworld and the GPS sites on the web. I purchased a data cable to talk to my laptop (and that part works) but I'm coming up dry on how to incorporate a few scanned flight maps I have and make them work as a moving map display on my laptop. I can't see purchasing an entire data base map system for the area I fly in and I keep reading about making these custom moving maps but I guess I'm pretty dim and not looking in the right places to find how this is done. Have any of the AR-15 gods done this before or could you point my dumb a** in the right direction? Thanks in advance.

Mike. I've got a few guys here that are going to help. When I have a better heads up on how this works, I'll e-mail you or post my findings here. A big thank you to all who offered to help. It's heart warming how this group bands together to help a fellow AR-15 member. Thanks again.
