Crush of arms
Pakistani authorities in Lahore use a bulldozer on Oct. 27 to destroy illegal firearms, some of which were handed in during a recent amnesty and others that were recovered during police searches. Security has been beefed up throughout the country, following violent demonstrations by Taliban supporters who condemn Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf for his backing of U.S. military action in Afghanistan.

That makes me sick!  One thing I can't stand is the destruction of innocent firearms.  They should have just sent them over to my house [:D]

What a waste. See they are a poor people and if they wanted to make a lot of money all they would have to do is flood the US market with those things at great prices and they would be rich. BUT NOOOO they just have to go and crushem.

Look at all those Tokerev's (sp).  I think I see a British Webley in there too.  The horror...The horror...

Thankfully those are mostly cheap Paki workshop guns and tokarevs, not real guns.

Agreed, it hurts to look at but there isn't much there to cry over.

The sick part is that US is supporting these devils and they are no better than the Taleban and never have been.  The US Government is digging its grave here.  I can't support any government that doesn't support the RKBA, and that includes our own.

The other thing I was thinking is that Paki is a dictatorship and that gun confiscation precededs genocide.

US did the same thing at the end of WWII in Europe, occupied Germany specifically. Drillings, Double Guns, Cape Guns, quite a bit of nice stuff. No handguns though - obviously. Often run over by a tank, Im sure some were duffle bagged back home. Least I care to hope so. Shame to see them go to waste.

Not sure if it was local security concerns of unit leaders or if it was concerted policy. A waste regardless, even if it was necessary.

The United States is not digging its grave with pakistan.  In essence they sought a region in which to grab a foothold, now that they can set up a base(s) in Afghanistan, and after they nab all of pakistans nukes they can just get out whenever they wish.  We will certainly see how things go.

The shiny revolver on the lower left looks like a Webley.  Wow... did the British left it behind during the Victorian Era?

What are those broomhandle mauser looking guns (there's several in the pic)?

I wondered the same thing GovThug. Figured they were broomhandle copies, made locally. Amazing what local craftsmanship can do. Not that Id be willing to fire any.

Is that a Skorpion right side slightly up from bottom? Looked like it had a hi cap detachable mag. Hard for me to tell. Id bet most are CIA/ISI hardware back in Pakistan from Afghanistan or local copies. Still a ton of gats
