"Ranger," when used to reference an Army Ranger, is always capitalized in the same way that I would capitalize "Marine" when referring to a member of the U.S. Marine Corps.



Is that correct?  I'm writing something for public consumption and don't want to screw this up, and I can't find another source I trust on the web.

"Ranger" in the context you have used is a proper name and should be capitalized.

One of my favorites - just seemed an appropriate smartass comment given the comment that was posted with the photo originally.

But the guy on the right DOES look like Marty Feldman in that still.
