Oh, shoot:

Cleveland police are investigating a recent shooting involving one of their own. The victim? A laser printer inside Police Headquarters. Paper jam? Annoying low-toner message? No, said, Lt. Wayne Drummond. Internal Affairs Sgt. Carla Ellis' gun fired accidentally. "Definitely not on purpose," he said. It's still being investigated. The printer remains in critical condition. "It's in the process of being repaired - or junked," Drummond said. "It's definitely broken, but we don't know the extent of the damage."

There are very few accidents with firearms.
My vote is for a negligent discharge.

There's been a time or two where I've been forced to draw down on printers around my station. Damn things have arms I tell ya.

I'm sure the cop was provoked and it was a justified shooting.

I'm not going to lie, I've done Harddrive balistic testing at the range before. The only thing that's kept me from bringing a printer or two down there is that there'd be too many pieces to pick up.

She thought she heard 'Woof! Woof!' come from inside the depths of the printer.

I suspect overkill...the officer should have used mace first, or a tazer.
