My problem with the truck has gotten much worse.  I noticed steam coming out from under the hood.  I found this small hole in the metal that is spraying coolant out any time the truck is running.

Any way to patch this?  I am supposed to take the truck in tomorrow to get it check out and maybe fixed.

The picture shows rust around the water pump.  Does it need replacing ASAP or what?

How difficult would it be for me to do it myself?

Water pumps have a small rubber bushing that usually starts leaking water to let you know when the impeller starts wearing out. Unless that little plug starts leaking or it is running hot then I wouldn't think it needs to be changed.

Did you check the coolant for rust or debris? Are you watching you the running temp? Are you loosing coolant?
It should be changed eventually, but how fast depends on whether there's really a problem more than the surface rust. Atleast checked further. It definitely looks like it's leaking though, so there's gotta be more to it. How hard? Removal of belts and various componets. Draining the system beforehand. Buy a Chilton's.

I recommend you post and ask here too. This forum has certainly helped me with my 92's.
