This is a percussion revolver complete with removeable nipples. This is entirely built of wood and parts from a real revolver will fit on it. Obviously you cant shoot it. This is not a photoshop job, I've seen it in person. $3950 will buy it. Damned expensive but truly a one of a kind piece of art.

If it won't fire i'd rather have one of these. that entirely toooo much money

You have to see it to appreciate it I guess. The gun functions just like the real thing, you pull the hammer back and the cylinder rotates, it will even dry fire. The builder of the gun showed it to me, even the screws are wood. Unbelieveable the amount of detail to this thing, if I could spare the money I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

pretty damn stupid. so is the price.

Very cool. I assume it must have metal springs in there somewhere, right?

You guys who are saying it's stupid - I don't agree at all.

1) It took a hell of a lot of time and talent to create that.

2) Its 10 times better than most other 'art' out there.

3) I am sure the creator will be crying all the way to the bank once someone purchases it.

If it was around $300 and I had money and the desire, I would buy it. Thats pretty cool.

Me likey.
And it takes talent to make something like that.

As I understand it springs are the only metal parts. It shows extreme skill at woodworking, as well as attention to detail that most of us could never hope to duplicate.

No....this is pretty damn stupid.

The wood revolver is probably one of the coolest things I've ever seen.

Why? ...

Guns are tools would you buy a wooden drill ?
Link Posted: 8/12/2005 10:22:17 AM EDT
That's like building a full size Ferrari out of Legos and charging $300,000 for it.

Link Posted: 8/12/2005 10:27:49 AM EDT
For that kind of money, you could buy a pristine original Colt 1851 Navy.

I'm not sure where you're shopping, but I'll take 10 at that price.

Not all guns are tools.

I might, if I like it. You are buying a work of art. Not a pistol. As in the purchase of any piece of art, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". I dabble in wood working, turning, engraving, and a variety of other things, and I can't imagine making something like that pistol. The craftsmanship that went into that piece is phenomonal as is the many hours invested in its creation I am sure.

Man, Dali is the best. Persistence of Memory.

This one is better:

And I, as the beholder, would say it's a worthless piece of birdcage lining. Certainly not a popular opinion in the 'art world' that's just the way being the beholder goes.

It would only be my loss if I gave a shit. I prefer pictures of light houses and wooden models of tall-ships.

All these folks who say the wood gun is stupid must live in rooms with cinder block walls painted battleship grey.

Some of us actually like decorating things. If I could afford it, that'd be a pretty damned cool decoration for my office.

Put me down for "Its Cool!", just based on the time and skill needed to make it.

I wouldn't buy it, but would love to see and touch it in person.

Hey Mauser101, don't be hatin' on Dali, now. Mofo is THE surrealist. And Mr45auto, you haven't seen Guernica, have you?

It's a nice sculpture, though. Are those cork grips?

Hey buckettsof Nevada you ever got anything to post thats not a slam?

I think that many things that are workable models of most anything ,made of wood or even paper are collectables to some!
