GF: I don't mind the 45 minute drive.
Me: [shocked] You'll go with me?
GF: Sure.
Me: Well....cool....[really pressing my luck] you should bring some cash, maybe we'll find you a deal on a 1911 for you.

She now wants a yellow m4 carbine.

My wife hasn't went that far but she has been asking a lot of questions lately. Seems their are a couple of guys that sit near her at work that have been talking guns. She comes home with stories about "banana clips", "AR15s are illegal", etc. I give her the facts to go back the next day and set the sheep straight.

You need to put an end to that shit quick. Just blow off her planned activity at the last minute and go to the gun show. Make sure you buy something good. Then, the next time she plans something, say you can't go because you have to break in your new weapon at the gun range.

Make an effort to blow off at least half of her planned activities, so when you do go she really appreciates it.
