LAST CHANCE IN THE LEGISLATURE!!!!

THIS IS IT!!!  On Tuesday (5/28) or Wednesday (5/29) the House of Representatives WILL
debate the "Assault Weapon" Bill, SB 1402, Passed Thursday by the Senate.
The ONLY way to stop the bill from passing is for YOU to contact your State
Representative! We've asked in the past few weeks for you to contact  the
Governor, Senators and Representatives OPPOSING this bill/amendment and SOME
of you have.  (Thank you!)  For the remainder, IT'S TIME TO GET OFF YOUR APATHY!

Don't rely on a few lobbyists in the Capitol to carry the ball without your
help - We've heard from friendly and other legislators in both the House and
Senate that they have received NO or few letters in opposition. In fact, a
few have told us they've received more from the anti-gun people! We number
in the hundreds of thousands, they number in the hundreds - GET THE MESSAGE?

Make it known to State Reps that Senate passage of this do-nothing bill will
ONLY affect  your ownership and recreation and was passed for
political/media exposure.  Like the 1993 bill it will have no impact on
criminals. They know, but remind them!  In the past several years, the only
real gun control as defined by either side has been negotiated by House
members (primarily Reps San Angelo & Lawlor). This negotiation process has
produced: Instant Check; The Firearms Trafficking Task Force; Dangerous
Weapons revisions; Department Store Clerk Firearms Training; Firearms
Tracing Procedures; Prohibiting Carry While Intoxicated; Trigger Lock
legislation; Range Protection; Psychiatric Disability Coordination; and
various other corrections. Let them know Senate members have NOT been a part
of these efforts, made NO effort to negotiate this bill, and their
grandstanding interference will torpedo ANY future negotiations with gun
owners should this bill pass the House. This will make everyone's efforts
more difficult. WE don't want to fight asinine gun bills every year and we
don't believe House members want that either. In summary, the Senate has
proven to be a disruptive element if they believe "Politics (Negotiations)
is the art of compromise."  The purpose of this year's activity has been simply to get publicity for Sen. Jepsen, who plans to run for governor.

Urge them to kill this politically motivated bill that will reduce Public
Safety on the streets of CT by  wasting police assets on registration.  Urge them to SUPPORT
enforcement of current law and the proven record of the Firearms Trafficking
Task Force. DON'T WAIT, DO IT NOW!

If we can't FLOOD the House with our position, forget about future proactive
bills and worry about what they will do to us! We will be classified as are
some other groups as a  "Paper Tiger" - potential, but no clout - nothing to
worry about!

Spread the word! Your rights ARE in jeopardy! Write the letter, e-mail or
call. Have your spouse/significant other/children do the same.  Tell your
friends to communicate....follow up and make sure they do it. This IS it! Do
it now!!

I sent an email to my rep and Governor Roland a little while ago.  The email from the governor was returned beacause "User mailbox exceeds allowed size".  I hope that is because he is getting flooded with email.  I think I am going to give him a call ((860) 566-4840 or toll free at 1-800-406-1527).

I'm trying to rally the troops for a major protest at the capitol on Tuesday. Spread the word in your neighborhood! I'm hoping we can get a bunch of patriots out there to express our disgust at the sneay tactics these commie pussies are using to destroy our rights!
