you get rid of CT, CA, MA, NY, and NJ, and there would only be a handful of co-sponsors. |

I see that my favorite Texas congresswoman, Sheila Jackson-Lee, is on there. I also notice that the list is heavily populated with congressmen from CA, Il, and NY. Big surprise there.

Don't worry - they will reach a compromise of some fashion.

What else are they going to require a private seller to do?
If I sell a car do I have to check the buyers driving record and check for proof of insurance? Besides, I don't have the number for the NICS and I don't think I can use it without a FFL #. |

The point is to eliminate all face to face sales forcing people to go to an FFL where you must fill out a 4473. Its defacto registration. |

Colin Goddard, a Virginia Tech survivor and Brady staff member
Isn't this the cocksucker that violated numerous federal laws by buying FTF at out of state gunshows? I guess the DOJ will prosecute him after they prosecute the POS Black Panthers. |

Quoted: Never mind that Cho (the VT shooter) passed the VA instant check, and the Columbine shooters got their guns via straw purchase. You are thinking rationally. These people do not. They are after as much power and control as they can squeeze out in this term. They know they are going to get tossed out in a few months, so they are falling on their sword for their cause. |

Look for this one to make it through in the lame-duck session after the Dems (progressive communist bastards) loose their majority in November.

Still playing the same old gun show loophole games. Must be election year pandering to their consitutents. You just know that this will get little press time.

Quoted: Never mind that Cho (the VT shooter) passed the VA instant check, and the Columbine shooters got their guns via straw purchase. And the Columbine shooters also illegally manufactured 95 destructive devices and 2 short barreled shotguns. They each could have gotten nearly a millenium (yes that's right 970 years) in federal prison before they even showed up at school that day. But what we obviously need are more gun laws on everybody else. |

No surprise here - DeGette, Diana [CO-1]
Miserable shitbag never met a libtard cause she didn't love. She's a Pelosi clone in a Scooby Doo villain type rubber mask. We have checks on all sales at gunshows in Colorado, this may be part of the reason that I haven't been to one that's worth a shit in many years. I'm sure she'd like to run them out of the state, but even though there's hardly in point in the, we still get regular Crossroads and Tanner. But they define a gunshow as something like "over 5 people or over 20 guns" (I don't remember exactly) so inviting someone into the house to buy/sell could run you afoul of this BS. |

Congressional Forum Held on Gun Show Loophole
Representative Bobby Scott (D-VA) hosted a forum in a packed hearing room before the Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security on H.R. 2324, the Gun Show Loophole Closing Act of 2009, on July 14, 2010. In most states convicted felons, domestic violence abusers, and those who are dangerously mentally ill can walk into any gun show and buy weapons from unlicensed sellers. Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-NY) and Rep. Mike Castle, who introduced the bill, were present along with Rep. John Conyers (D-MI) and Rep. Mike Quigley (D-IL). Colin Goddard, a Virginia Tech survivor and Brady staff member, testified about his experience on April 16, 2007 when he was shot four times. He showed footage from his undercover investigation of gun shows which highlighted how easy it is to buy a gun from a unlicensed seller without a criminal background check. Colin was joined by Tom Mauser, whose son was killed at Columbine high school with guns bought at a gun show, and by Kenny Barnes, who also lost his son to gun violence. Other panelists included Dr. Daniel Webster, Col. (Ret.) Gerald Massengill, Mayor Laurent Gilbert, Retired Special Agent Gerry Nunziato, and Chief Scott Knight. More than 105 House members have cosponsored the legislation. Isn't it funny how they neglect to mention that doing so is already against the law. So they want to pass another law that can be simply stepped around by a criminal anyway? |

Reminds me of a conversation I had with a coworker earlier this week. Somehow he mentioned the "gun show loophole" so I asked him what that was.
Him:It's how anybody can walk into a gun show and buy a gun bypassing the waiting period. Me: There is no waiting period in Virginia. Him: Me: That's right. Him: So what's involved? Me: To buy a gun from a federally licensed dealer, you fill out some paperwork, they run your name through the NICS and, assuming you get the green light, you walk out with your gun. Him: Me: Him: So what's with this loophole I keep hearing about? Me: That's the Brady Bunch crying about private sales. You know, me selling to you. They want all gun sales to go through the NICS. Further, since private individuals are barred by law from using the NICS, it would have the effect of banning all private gun transfers (sales, estate transfers - everything). Him: Me: Him: Me: Glad you see the truth. Then we moved on to talking about strategies for convincing the wife how it's OK to keep a gun in the house with young children without having the gun and ammunition each locked in separate safes. |

Republicans need to introduce legislation criminalizing gun control advocacy, introduce it over and over again until it passes. Then try, convict and imprison gun control advocates including everyone who has contributed money to any gun control advocate group.

Party affiliation isn't shown, almost all are probably members of the Fascist-Democrat party.

Don't fool yourselves into thinking the laws apply equally to all of us." |

The last few gun shows I have been to, most of the people selling at least require you to fill out a form 4473 when you buy something.
