Last week, we had a power outage.

So, the computer dude at Second source tells me my software was corrupted. He gets the thing to boot up and everything but explorer seems to work fine.

Fast forward $150––-

The explorer shortcut (although I can't find it anywhere else. I try to uninstall it, but it's not showing up except on the desk top) is still on my desk top and it opens but won't do a bloody thing. It won't even close.

I went to MS website and tried downloading explorer but it says I have a more recent version on the machine and it won't let me download anything.

Bueller? Anyone?

Explorer or Internet Explorer? If Explorer doesn't work, then your PC is hosed and needs a reinstall. Can you navigate around your hard drive and look at files?

Internet explorer.

Tells me I need permission to delete it (in hopes I can then download it and it works.)

Explore function is ok.

Thanks
