I using Outlook express. I can't log on to get my email. It prompts me for my password but when I type it in I gives me this error:

There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was rejected. Account: 'pop.earthlink.net (1)', Server: '', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR Invalid user name or password', Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92

I know I have the right password. I can get on the internet so this isn't a problem. Do you think this may be an Earthlink mail server problem? Thanks zeek

my guess would be the server is that not a local loopback address?

Virus scanners will setup a pop server on the machine itself so they can scan the email as its being downloaded. If you have turned off your uninstalled your virus scanner then that may be the cause. in that case you will need to either turn your scanner back on or call earthlink so they can guide you through reconfiguring outlook.

Thanks! I'm good now I ended up contacting Earthlink through live chat. The incoming mail server was messed up
