I have heard several times on talk radio about a chance the Sudan gave Clinton to get Bin Laden back in '96. Clinton passed on this . . .

Has anyone heard more on this?

And why the hell is the media concentrating on vague warnings to Bush, when Clinton could have got the guy . . .

The government of Sudan, employing a back channel direct from its president to the Central Intelligence Agency, offered in the early spring of 1996 to arrest Osama bin Laden and place him in Saudi custody, according to officials and former officials in all three countries.

The Clinton administration struggled to find a way to accept the offer in secret contacts that stretched from a meeting at a Rosslyn hotel on March 3, 1996, to a fax that closed the door on the effort 10 weeks later. Unable to persuade the Saudis to accept bin Laden, and lacking a case to indict him in U.S. courts at the time, the Clinton administration finally gave up on the capture.

I think he didn't try real hard.  All those assholes screaming "Bush Knew" should read this.  But his bitch wife gets up before the Senate waving a newspaper with the "Bush Knew" headline already knew this and this is just one more attempt by the bitch to deflect attention.  Now that the Dems have started this smear campaign, a vast left wing conspiracy [:D] in answer to the vast right wing conspiracy that was out to get Billy Bob, this should be brought up.  I believe that many who know about this have been quiet in order to keep the American people united should now start pointing out this and other things.  If they want to point fingers, let's point.
