Cool I play the remastered Age of Empires 2 HD. I recently bought Starcraft 2 but couldn't really get into it I think I would like the old one better.

I never got into Starcraft 2 as much as the classic one. It's just not as good or balanced IMO.

I have to check out the AOE2 remaster

I haven't played online in probably 8-10 years, but I do enjoy the campaign.

Got SC2, and found someone made a custom "remastered" version of SC and BW. Played both, thoroughly enjoyed it.

Blizzard was already beat to the punch on this, at least for the campaign mode.

I played this a lot at LAN parties with friends. Oh, the memories.

I've never gotten into any other RTS games. Just too much going on too fast.
Starcraft was an aberration for me.

I used to always play Protoss and go straight for all carriers. If you could manage to build them all it was an easy win strategy. Just build a bunch of the photon cannons at the choke points to protect from the Zerg rushes. Sometimes wouldn't work though

The fast map was my favorite

I don't have the time to practice SC anymore. The amount of coordination and micromanaging needed to play competitively these days is ridiculous.

Don't even get me started with these people that have insane APM speed...

I just want to know if all of the old cheat codes work:

black sheep wall
modify the phase variance
something for nothing
power overwhelming
there is no cow level

Those are just the ones I recall right off the top of my head.

And here I assumed it would be in the SC2 engine and go through the SC2 game itself.

Brood War still works on my computer, but I get some strange color reversals sometimes.

I like the SC2 campaigns but the multiplayer sucks because they change things too much because blizzard no longer cares about the players because their focus is 110% on esports.

Most of this is actually bad training. It gets used in SC2 as some sort of stat that matters when most of it is padded at the start of the game.

Nobody talks about combat APM, which is what matters (stalker blink micro, etc). It's also why most people simply use the "top strategy" at the time and rarely think outside the box.

There is a difference, they aren't "remaking it"

They are simply making it compatible and using todays latest tech to enhance the quality.

That's the part hollywood gets wrong every time.

I can't wait, especially now that the Koreans will be busy so they won't have time to own us.

Massed goons with a few zealots to lead the charge and an arbiter to break up aerial formations = debris falling from the sky, especially on open maps like Killing Fields.
