I've seen most of the movies people on here seem to have liked a lot. I'm not looking for a new release, but really a few GREAT classic movies that I may not have seen yet. I don't care how old they are, as long as they were one of the BEST movies you've ever seen.

I like war films, comedies and pretty much anything with a REALLY good story to it. Movies that replace story and substance with "fun" visuals don't do it for me (ie..Independence Day stuff)

Here are a few films that I REALLY liked, just for reference.

1)Apoc. Now
2)Res. Dogs
3)Usual Suspects
4)Something About Mary
5)The Name Of The Rose

Any tips for todays movie rental??

Free Americian,
is Bullet the one with Rock Hudson driving a black mach 1 with no markings/chrome?
If it is I have been trying to find the name of that move for years I always turn on AMC in the middle of the car chase where he is chasing two guys in another black car and in the end of scene the shoot at him with a winchester 1897 shotgun.

Only one of Traci Lord's videos are legal in the states, and that ain't it!  There's a place in Quebec that sells every video she was ever in.  Wow.  www.tracilordsvideos.com

Good movies:

-The Wild Geese
-To Live and Die in LA
-The Way of the Gun (so-so movie but it's by the guy who wrote The Usual Suspects, and the opening scene is just terrific)
-Lawrence of Arabia (my fave)

Heat - I love the shootout scene.
Pulp Fiction - Samuel L. Jackson is da man!
Men of Honor - I'm a squid, sue me.
The Matrix - "We need guns, lots of guns..."
Scarface - "Say hello to my little friend..."

And some other movie with Antonio Bandaras(sp) where he's a sniper, trying to kill this other sniper who faked his own death. (Well, that's how I remember it.)

Just got the Magnificent Seven DVD.  Damn that's a cool movie.  Watch it again if you haven't seen it in a few years.  Charles Bronson providing covering with a lever gun...heh.  Made it look easy....
Of course, Steve McQueen draws from his holster and promptly shoots the ground at one point.

Can't wait for Wild Bunch to arrive.

Any one else here forget to mention The Untouchables?

3. Rules of Engagement (if you like A Few Good Men, and realistic gun fights.)

4. Full Metal Jacket

5. South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut (I know, a little extreme, but it does have a scene where the Baldwins get 'sploded good!!)

6. The Matrix (Must have been in a cave on Mars with your ears plugged if you've missed this one)
