I haven't been able to find an answer on this one since the switch from greens to blues.

Saw this a lot when I was in but I never asked.

What is the significance of waring a unit crest above unit award ribbons?

Is this for an award carried over from a previous unit?

It has been a while, but if I remember correctly:

Unit award ribbons go directly above the right pocket, same spacing above as the individual awards on the left pocket. The unit crest is above the unit awards.
