I realized that I've never listened to the whole song before when I listened to the whole song this morning.  The radio station was nice enough to only bleep a couple of the bad words.

Wow.  I had no idea.   swingset was right.  You could never get tired of listening to it.

Oh yea! Great song. Always brings a smile to my face and sore ribs. Sometimes from laughing,
sometimes from an elbow

This was always a favorite of mine to play on the boom box during high school field trip bus rides.

You can tell a lot about how your date is gonna go after a few beers and "Strokin" comes on the jukebox

Yep good drinking with a date song. Another classic one is Johnnie Taylor - Who's Making Love.

There used to be several bars in CT (and possibly elsewhere) called "Boppers" where they played the Strokin and Who's Making Love songs and the bar staff would jump up on the bar and dance/sing the song. There was a set dance routine for each song. You'd have lots of college girls also doing the song/dance routine on the bar's dance floor. Nothing like seeing inebriated college girls singing and dancing to both of those songs. Ah, the college years.
