[ARCHIVED THREAD] - City Councilman guilty of beating homeless man with baseball bat

The charges stem from a June 2014 attack of a homeless man at the
Park Tanglewood Apartment Complex, where Rivas is property manager.

According
to authorities on the morning of June 17th, Rivas saw the man, who he'd
had previous run-ins with, leaning on a fence in the complex parking
lot. Rivas yelled at the man and then retrieved a bat. Authorities say
he hit the man with the bat repeatedly until the man escaped and fled to
an adjacent complex.

Authorities say Rivas then followed the man
in his car. When he caught up to the man, Rivas got out of his car with a
handgun and pointed it at the victim's head.

What's wrong with some people? The homeless guy has enough problems, no need to add to them.

The cops catch and release, even after violent offenses. In many cases they get lighter sentences than your average asshat. Even without a high dollar lawyer. So what are you supposed to do when some mentally ill drunk pulls his pecker out on the local apartment playground and propositions the kids? I'm not saying that's what happened in this case, but I don't have enough fingers and toes to count the number of times I've seen homeless dick because the cops won't can't do shit about it and you can't put them in an asylum.
