Christmas Bonus - AR15.COM

Did you get one this year? does your company usually give you one? If they dicked you, did you get an explanation? How long before the bonus day did they notify you?

I'm hoping to get a poll to work here.

$30 freakin' dollars worth of Giant Eagle grocery cards was all I got.

One place I worked for years ago gave my secretary a christmas bonus and not me. They didn't give any of the associate attorneys a bonus, but gave them to "the girls" (of course I wasn't having sex with any of the partners so I guess they earned it). After I bitched about it they gave everyone a bonus the next year, but they had done it that way for years before I crabbed about it.

See, I'm in construction too, and we got stiffed this year. We got a memo the day before the xmas party telling us not to expect shit (raises either). Supposedly the second quarter. My company has always been one of the stingiest construction companies I've ever heard of.

... Just successfully accomplished a huge two-year project and received a nice cash recognition award that funded a good part of my recreation room, home improvement project.

... Took one month off from work similarly related to the completion, but no Christmas bonus other than five days Holiday with pay.

... Life is good.

I'm my own boss which is nice, but I don't think I'm giving myself a bonus this year. Most likely I'll be giving myself a day off for Christmas..

I'm in construction also but I don't get them, I give them, and today I gave out over 35K to staff. They're good people and it's been a very good year.

Also in construction here (subcontractor actually). We always get an extra 40 hour week pay check, plus a slight raise.

Usually get one. Not this year. I wasn't counting on it so it's not money I "needed".
This is the only company
I've worked for that gave bonuses. Unless ya count the 10 lb. turkey the last place would give us.

we get a very nice xmas party with an overnight hotel paid for so that's our bonus. i'd rather just have the cash equivalent and stay at home! haha

Yeah, we have a shitty little party in the parking lot at the main office. This year the subs weren't even invited. I'd rather have the $50/head it probably cost them.

Pretty good here. Become a stock holder this year (40 people private company) so they have to disperse with some of the profit. Cash bonus is ~ 20% of my yearly salary. Also got 1 share of the company that they paid for so my W2 will look crazy this year.

Same here.

Our most recent Quarterly Bonus was $1100 before taxes(withholding is done at a higher rate for our bonuses...about 45%). Normally, it had been about $350 - $400 before taxes. We did so well that Management raised the performance standards for bonuses for the next fiscal year.

Bust your ass & sacrifice to help the company make a profit(we've been the only profitable production plant in the Co. for the past 6 quarters) and what do they do? Screw you anyway.
