When Matthews runs for the GOP presidential nomination you can be sure this clear evidence of his subnormal IQ will be made known to all by the stewards of the truth that make up the msm.

Man, those Egyptians have some global reach these days. |

The other day, Chrissy said Obama was born in Illinois, the same as Lincoln (neither were).
Next sentence was how Palin misspoke about something, so she is SOOOOO stupid. |
|
I guess he should move his ass out of here since he does not feel
this is a real country, after all the U.S. was carved out by Europeans. |

Damn Carter, he gave it to them at Camp Davis didn't he. Lincoln gave it to Ramses the III as part of the Molotov-Rippentrop agreements. |

Without missing a beat, man makes fun of someone else who misspeaks. Sounds more like a stand up comedy routine than debate strategy to me. |

America may be an economic and military powerhouse, but we are a baby compared to many countries/cultures in the world. In fact, we more or less lack a national identity compared to most folks in the world. He has a point. - BG |

He's really a breathless speaker. Sounds like he's nearly out of breath...all the time.
Which canal is easier to see from your house Chris, the Panama or the Suez.? |
|
It doesn't matter what country you are from, someone carved it out at some point in time. The real difference is in between having a common culture, or having a situation where differing cultures are thrown together.

Was he saying it like a metaphor? Like Egypt has the "Panama Canal" of the Eastern hemisphere?
Or did he REALLY mean that the panama canal is in egypt? |

Everyone's always expecting the next ME strongman to come from Egypt. Nasser was the man for a long time. Sadat put his name to a peace treaty and was killed for it...not a good strong-man move. |

We may be "only" 230 years old, but America very much has it's own culture and national identity. |

He made a simple error, which Sarah Palin has made saying things like "Our North Korean allies". Chris Matthews and others use misstatements like that to claim she's a clueless idiot, and excerpt the parts where she is clearly saying South Korea's an ally. Nobody's going to hold it against Chris Matthews though. |

I don't deny that we have a unique culture and national identity, but I think the ties between people are far weaker than in many other places. Where others share a common religion, ethnicity, or other cultural binder, we only bring Big Macs and Britney Spears to the table. We still get kudos for the whole revolution/Democratic Republic thing, though. It isn't like American history and contributions aren't respected to a certain degree. The fact remains, however, that we cannot use economic and military might to magically make ourselves a nation with ancient ties, epic legends, or similar things. I don't think Matthews, as much of a douche as he can be, was implying that countries with these attributes are "better" than us, but they do have characteristics and experiences that we cannot replicate. - BG |
