I just heard about this muself last night.

Hormel Chili...in a box...like a juice box.

I don't know what to think.  I haven't seen it yet, but imagine it can't travel as well as cans.

Do you eat it through a straw, like a juice drink?

I try to stay away from chili ever since I had about 4 gallons of it dumped on me.

The GF bought some Stag chili in a box last weekend.

Still tastes the same, except I think there's a little less in the box than the can, no matter what it says.

You CANNOT nuke the box to prepare it-you still have to pour it in a bowl to nuke it or a pan to warm it up.

Chili in a box?  In Texas that's a hanging offense.  Probably has beans in it too...  blech.

Everyone know there are not beans in chili.

Now if you want chili with beans or even chili beans that's fine, but chili has no beans.

UPDATE!!

I ate it.
I sat in my car with the AC blasting and followed the instructions on the box.
I tore the top piece off.
I ate it cold.
It was very spicy.
It had beans.
Overall it was OKAY.
Too much like eating an MRE, and I have eaten WAY to many of those.hug.gif
I will be eating the other boxes.
Weird.

If it had beans, it was beef stew, not chili.

The Texas Chili Overlords have spoken.

Stagg chili's not bad. I haven't tried the boxed variant though.

I've seen the posts on how chili doesn't have beans in it and I just don't get it... I love chili with beans.

btw AnubisOwnsYou, you waited a very long time to post about chili in a box...

The chili we eat here in North Carolina has beans. However, if your going to make chili to put on hod dogs, hamburgers, or anything else there are no beans.

Then again, you Texas folks think barbarque consists of beef with bbq sauce on it..... silly Texans . If it ain't pulled pork thats been pit cooked, then it ain't barbarque!

Back when I was a kid store bought chili was available in a block can't remember what brand it was.  The last can a wolf I ate damn near killed me.  Tried some Austex the other night and it was pretty good for store bought.

I pretty sure that anything you eat cold from a box in a vehicle will taste like an MRE
