Didn't a local gun club turn in $6200.00 worth of JUNK guns ? ?
Then use the $$ to buy MORE guns an ammo for teaching KIDS to shoot ETA; FAIL on my part for NOT reading the link |

What do you want to bet they sent someone to the evidence locker to grab some guns to spruce up the take for the cameras
|

Looks pretty damn pristine to me, but air soft or not, I want the fucking bipods...

It's probably an airsoft. I can't believe that anyone would turn in a real one.
That's something you'd keep a secret and hide it in your wall or attic for life. |

If someone walked in with that off of the street, they would be making a HUGE deal about it and showcasing it. One little comment? I don't think so. |
|
A person could have made some decent money off that as a parts set without the receiver.
If it's real that is. ETA i don't think it's a real one, to uniform in color. |

Where in the ghetto is somebody gonna squirrel away an M-60 for all these years?

FUCK YOU GERRY I had the same thought. Maybe it was stolen from the military in the early sixties, when it was brand new, otherwise every single M60 I was issued, or even saw, looked like it had been through hell and back. Something else didn't seem quit right about it, I can't put my finger on it, everything seemed to be in order, but something just seemed not right. Of course it could be a semi auto built from a kit, I remember seeing such beasts now and then. It could also be a non firing prop gun from a movie studio, or a model as well. |

Or the serial number goes back to the US military and it was sold to CPD for $1 under the former military equipment program.

Gotta go with fake. At the end it even says 5500 turned including over 700 replicas.
|
|
You think it is or isn't? |

I like how the cop says they face the M60 in the street every day.........BULLSHIT!

If I had bigger gonads I'd go to Lowes buy some pipe, nails, rubber bands and turn in a hundred or so zip guns.

Would serial numbers of guns being turned in become public information?
If so, can a civilian determine it's history? |
|
first piston isn't wired down, every pig we had was wired to keep the plug from vibrating off.
second absolutely pristine flash hider and barrel lugs, no marks on the stock feed tray cover is perfect, as are the bipod legs.. also why is the bolt to the rear? I call complete and utter |
|
"Don't kill a dream, save a life" has to be the dumbest, most libtardish, bleeding heart slogan I've ever heard. And that says a lot. For some reason I want to take that M60 and buttstroke the person who came up with it until every dream that's ever danced through their tiny brain has been smashed to pieces.

I just called a buddy who retired from CPD a few years back.. I asked if he knew of anything like that in their Armory or Evidence and he laughed at me, if they had something like that EVERYBODY would know about it, and we would've seen it before now....it's GOTTA be an Airsoft |

"The local Chicago CBS affiliate and police superintendent point to guns, not criminals, as the cause of all of their problems." |

It looks off because it looks brand new, that said, if it's not real its a god damned outstanding replica/air soft.

Shit, even if it is airsoft or a replica/display model it's still probably worth several hundred dollars at least. |

Do the police have to account for the disposition of turned in weapons?

Feed tray cover looks a bit off to me especially the bumps on top where the feed tray pauls ride. Course it could just be that I have never seen/handled one that wasn't beat to shit either.
