Those are drill marks (and hole) from where they blasted a big rock into small rocks.
|
|
Looks like blasting drill holes....or maybe the rock was broken up by drilling alone.

Prehistoric pocket pussy. Remember, men were smaller then, and so were their penises, so don't judge too harshly.

the two gouges look drilled.
but another interesting fact is there are some sea creatures that bore into rocks. |

bunch of around tampa...I have a pile of them about the size of baseballs...I think it's due to being around water...may take a pic tomorrow

Probably drilled with a widowmaker. Predecessor to the Gardner Denver jackleg.

Thanks for the reply's so far, I don't know anything about blasting so I didn't even think about that! Blasting's not to common around my area but it could have been back in those days I suppose.

It's pretty smooth to have been blasted. Maybe eroded from water or ice after blasting

Carved by the "hole in the rock" people of the upper Midwest...

Considering you use to be able to buy dynamite at the hardware store, it was common pretty much everywhere in those days. View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted:

An old boat anchor to small of a hole for dynamite 5/16 of an inch
|

I just happen to be watching a documentary about old greek and egyptian ships and that looks a lot like an old anchor. Unusual if it's in ND

Obviously it's a prehistoric gun barrel.
Can't you all see the flutes?? |

Blasting holes in general 1 3/8 for jack leg , Jumbo 1 7/8 Those holes have a point toward the bottom of the hole and the rock has a few holes together in different directions , not what's normal for a rock breaking pattern, holes are small for charging. Even a blasting cap is the size diameter of about a ball point pen. You can rotary hammer drill holes and drive wedges in them to break rock. Something like this maybe. |

That's the Holy Grail from the Bible. The hole is where King Arthur pulled out the sword, becoming headmaster of Hogwarts.
