This incredible machine was built as a collaborative effort between the Robert M. Trammell Music Conservatory and the Sharon Wick School of Engineering at the University of Iowa.
Amazingly, 97% of the machines components came from JOHN DEERE Industries and Irrigation Equipment of Bancroft, Iowa.

It took the team a combined 13,029 hours of set-up, alignment, calibration, and tuning before filming this video, but as you can see, it was WELL worth the effort.
It is now on display in the Matthew Gerhard Alumni Hall at the University and is already slated to be donated to the Smithsonian.

it's cgi, look at where the balls come out of the pipes, do you see any valve there to let the ball out of just one funnel and not all of them?

Welcome to 2001... Animusic. This particular piece was created to show off the ATI Radeon Line of cards...

I can't believe anyone falls for that anymore. That's made the rounds so many times already, how could you miss it unless you live under a rock?

Animusic. Pure CGI. Creative, clever, inventive...and totally impossible to pull off in the real world.
