Some of my friends in boarding school were the sons of expat oil workers in Saudi Arabia.
They said it was pretty boring most of the time. Apparently its boring enough that giant lizard wrangling starts looking like a good idea after a while |

And if it bites you, you are in serious trouble Lizard mouths are infested with every kind of nasty bacteria It's real bad if you get bitten. You guys are thinking of Komodo Dragons, whose mouths are nasty because of all the carrion they eat. The lizard in the video is mostly a herbivore, a bite might hurt some, but wouldn't be dangerous. |

I caught one of those in Kuwait. They are pretty docile and love to eat salad.

on the spectrum of "mean ass lizards"
those dont even register now if she was chasing down a large monitor or a Tegu I would be more impressed lol |

My 9 year-old daughter now wants to take a lizard catching trip to Saudi Arabia. Thanks, GD!

The Komodo dragon mouth being infested with killer bacteria has been shown to be false. Their mouths are actually no more dirty than other predators, and actually cleaner than some. They actually have venom sacks. Komodo venom |

i never bothered the iguanas in PR.
didn't want to terrify them or stress them. |

A couple of us went chasing a very large lizard across the tarmac in the PI. It outran us and ducked into a hangar. As we approached the hangar we became apprehensive. No one wanted to go first so we went back to work.
The end. |

I almost ran off the road in a Mercedes van when trying to avoid one on Shakisa Air Base in Bahrain back in '93.
That was probably a few days after the Paki's leveled their MP5's on me when I approached the gate for the first time...not sure which was more scary. |

You are right. That is a euromastyx. Strictly herbivore. |

LOL, Dub Dubs, so called because that's the sound they made when we ran them over in our Humvees.
Had them all over the place at King Fahd AB during Desert Shield/Storm/Calm. Used to fall asleep watching the geckos running across the ceiling of our Harvest Falcon and Temper tents. Ah, and camel spiders. <shudder> |
