While buying once, crying once is a favorite saying of mine, there are some great values out there that can be considered "cheap".
For example, I can think of three knives I keep around and use often. Mora knives Opinel knives Swiss Army Let's add to the list. Rock Island Armory 1911. |

Vortex SPARC. I've been thinking of getting one and it looks like a really good deal.

I really like my dad's Ruger p95.

1. For a home theater PC, this is awesome with VLC player or XBMC: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00224ZDFY/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
2. A $13 used Gillette, a $35 Merkur, or a $40 Edwin Jagger safety razor will last for generations of cheap shaves with $0.10 DE blades. 3. Jet Beam flashlights beat the pants off Surefire & are only ~$30... and there are $5-10 lights that are also just as good on Amazon, shipping from China. |

Not dirt cheap, but way less money than the big name brands, and a great leather holster for the price. |

I've been using the same Harbor Freight tool set I put together in 2003. $83 worth back then. View Quote About 4 years ago I bought a Kobalt tool set from Lowes in a blow molded plastic case. I put it on a harbor freight utility cart and intended to use it as a more mobile set of tools than my big set of tool that I had in a craftsman roll away in the front of my garage. That was pretty much the last time I used my "real" tools. The set didn't have everything, but it did 99% of the stuff I've needed hand tools for. The tool set was $90 and the cart was cheap, but I'm not sure how much. I'm amazed at how good those cheap tools are. I don't even bother grabbing my snap on stuff and prefer it to my craftsman stuff. |
