Natural gas Feb futures price is $5.05+. Buying propane in the middle of the highest natural gas prices in 5 years is not going to be pleasant for you guys.

Parts of the upper midwest are allowing drivers to pull around 70 hour weeks right now to get it to market.

You can thank obama and warren buffet for that. These prices wouldn't be near there if they could cheaply transport it on rail ways. But that is only for oil now.

Yes, the DOT limitations in Iowa for haulers of LP have been raised significantly.

We went right from a VERY wet harvest year (lots of grain dryers run on LP) right into a very, very cold winter. We were having LP supply problems in October. First to run dry was Minn, they pulled LP from Iowa, which then went dry and we were pulling from Nebraska.

All of the Midwest has been seeing wind chill temps in the -30's and have been below freezing since the beginning of December.

So, the two biggest uses had big years for LP. There is also some players on the trading side of things that messed with supply, but they're a smaller factor that someone else will know more about.

Considering the vast amounts of NG that have been drilled/pumped in the last few years, that price is wakadoodle.

I guess we're exporting virtually all of the new NG somehow.  I guess drill baby drill doesn't help us out much at all.

So I just found out that my $3.68 price for LP is lowest in our area so I bought 200 gallons. Others are near $5.00. Damn!
