Both, one personal and one company issued.

On a belt, not enough room in pockets, plus do not want screen scratched by keys, etc.
Link Posted: 10/25/2013 12:12:25 PM EST
Well, I try not to look like the biggest tool ever... so in my pocket.
Link Posted: 10/25/2013 12:12:26 PM EST
Neither. My case clips to my left front pocket, unless I'm wearing a tucked shirt which is about once a year Then it goes to the belt.
Link Posted: 10/25/2013 12:13:11 PM EST
used to have a clip-on holster thingy....got it for $4 on amazon...
had disconnect from the clip to the actual back of the holster, so when i caught it on something, it would disconnect and not break...worked pretty well...
disconnect broke...
now it's in the pocket, which sucks with the case on...

Pocket

Wearing your cell phone on your belt is on par with wearing a bluetooth headset out in public even when you're not using it.
Link Posted: 10/25/2013 12:19:03 PM EST
If you are under 50, pocket. Over 50, belt.

It really depends on the phone, what else you want to carry, what kind of pants you're wearing, and how big the pockets are.

Batman style tool belt cases are the ghey

Pocket nukes your balls! I carry in pocket...
Link Posted: 10/25/2013 12:26:51 PM EST
Hmm, I had no idea that wearing it on my belt made me lame, that stinks It is just more convenient that way.

clipped on the bag hanging on the back of my wheelchair

iPhone in an otter box (belt). I'm a mechanic and pocket carry would leave me with a smashed screen in less than a day.
Link Posted: 10/25/2013 12:37:34 PM EST
Pocket? It's about as thin as a piece of paper, who has a thick phone needing to be on a belt anymore, unless you're a contractor with one of those armored sorts?
Link Posted: 10/25/2013 12:39:10 PM EST
On my belt because it provides cover and redirection for the G-22 that lives next to it, in the waistband.

12 belt carriers in the poll

that's more than the count of belt-wearers that I've seen "in the wild" in the past 5 years
Link Posted: 10/25/2013 12:42:15 PM EST
My pocket. I'm not a skinny-jeans wearing hipster that wears pants too tight to fit a phone into.

Link Posted: 10/25/2013 12:43:40 PM EST
dumbphone in pocket

Pocket.

Otherwise I'm afraid I'd forget it somewhere

iPhone 5 in left front pocket, because the car keys are in right.

Pocket, specifically my back left pocket. I see people all the time with belt clips and all I can think of is some old dude on vacation.

Man bag or pocket.

There does seem to be an age cutoff when the phone moves to the belt. Probably around the time a man loses his last shred of self respect.

When wearing sweat pants in public is ok, so is a phone clipped to them.

In my trucks cup holder. I almost never have it on me.

Concealed carry in pocket.

I also do not wear my worker I.D. badge out in public at lunchtime.

Pocket. Droid. I don't dream of being Batman or a cop and wearing a fucking utility belt.

My phone is in the picture. It's small and goes into a pocket just fine.
It's also prehistoric.

Ditto most days. I've only got one extra pocket.

ETA: When not at work, I try to wear a pair of pants with more pockets.

Draid Razr HD, in a Trident AMS Kraken case. in my pocket

As an aside, Trident makes some badass cases, cheaper than Otterbox and provides the same level of protection as the Defender Series yet still slides in a pocket easily(silicone is inside the polycarbonate shell)

I do
Link Posted: 10/25/2013 1:36:40 PM EST
I have a leather belt clip and a camo belt clip. Used for an iPhone 5.

I do that because a) phones heat up and battery life gets lost easier, b) no chance of getting lint and other crap into my phone c) no pocket dials.
