The TP roll and my hand are for size reference. Heard some scratching around in my attic and I thought there were squirrels in my roof, went up stairs to find this monster. The scary thing is, there are more still scratching around up there. |

You are the renter or you own the apartment?
If you're renting the place, you might want to let your landlord know his property is infested with rats. There is never just one rat (or mouse, or roach, etc etc). If you're the owner, you have your work cut out for you. |

Traps will do it. Just get a bunch and keep them baited. ETA: You can call an exterminator, but he's going to poison them. They'll definitely die, but they may smell if they're in the walls. Then again, if they're in the walls, they might be chewing on your wiring. |

Yea....I'd skip the sticky traps and go straight for the bearcat!

Combination of poison and traps will usually get them killed dead . look for holes in the walls or under cabinets ,

Had one of those bare tailed kittehs die in my attic this summer, it was not good.

Rat traps are cheap by the dozen.
Be sure to change them out every two hours so they don't get smart enough to avoid them. |

I agree, mice are bad enough but if you have rats living in the attic either they already are or will be using your living space as their own. Get a black light and start looking around the place, if you find even a little bit of the glow in the dark stuff it's time to move. Nothing like having rat piss all over your countertops and dishes and never knowing it.......

View Quote I have never seen any signs of them in my actual living space, likely due to the 22lb leopard that lives with me. I will set up a bunch of different traps in my attic and basement to see if I can make a dent in them. I will also call my landlord and see if she will send out a exterminator. |

I've taken three in the past week outside the patio door...vermin. The traps work well but tie it down with a string so the hurt ones don't drag them away.
Good luck...if there is one...there is more |

View Quote Trap needs to be big enough to kill squirrels (or so I thought), so it's a rat trap. The TP roll is industrial, brought it home from work when I had a bad cold a few days ago. And I figured my veiny gangly fingers were as good as a toe pic. |

Gotta be one of the worst dinner pics in a while. Wooden plate, toilet paper for napkins... C'mon, man...
Stir fry that meat and make a better presentation... |

Now get ready for the smell of death if they are her young up there
