Which is why I drive around ina 13 yr old truck, guns are a better investment than real estate. The serious gun folks and preparedness specialists always drive a POS. Cars are a necessary evil, and a terrific waste of money.

No kidding. I've put it off for years, since 16 when I "could" have bought one, and have only now been forced(by myself) to buy an available '92 Olds Cutlass Station Wagon.
Really.
But at $750(for a car that's worth maybe 3k), I can't say no. I need a car(like you said, paspecops, necessary evil), but I need the rest of my money for important things.
Important like a Tromix .458 SOCOM upper, and the part-by-part super-l/w upper AR with a Hesse Kevlar lower, and AO tritium sights for my USP, and an HK UTL, and more Thermolds, and Mastermolder 20's, and a case of Cor-Bon 9mm, and an Aimpoint M2Comp, and an IMI Tavor Bullpup,(and MORE thermolds for that) and-and-and...
I'd be able to save up for exactly NONE of these things I want to invest in, if I had a better car, and the payments that go with it. Easy choice, n'cest pas? My collection is easily worth more than the car.
