Canada has an army? Yeah, they don't fight but they're a hell of a lot more efficient than the UAW & CAW. |

How many Canadians does it take to disassemble and reassemble a jeep in under four minutes?
Well now we know. |

Is there a big demand for that in Canada or something? Since Canada's global force projection strategy depends on everything fitting into canoes, yes. |

I rip on Canada a lot for siding with France and Germany by sitting out the Iraq war, but you can't slight their Army for not fighting in Afghanistan. They are punching way above their weight there. |

Yea... looks cool, but not really impressive.
Too much stuff as been disconnected or loosened or just outright removed beforehand. Even some important stuff... like... radiator coolant. All in all that "jeep" couldn't be driven more than a handful of miles before it came apart or locked up the motor. |

Probably quick-connect fittings on the radiator that don't let coolant flow from either end if it's disconnected.
Whole lotta quick-pins. |

They made a lot of changes to that Jeep.
A factory CDN M38A1 or CJ-5 does not break down that easy. Av. |

So what's the rest of the Army using for a vehicle while these guys have the jeep?

I wish I could still get one of those old jeeps at a decent price. Then again I am not sure I want the one from the video. ^_^
That was a pretty cool display. How often do you see a military drill team (besides bands and rifle spinners) just go out and do something to entertain/inspire the civilian populace in our country. Might not be a bad recruitment tool to show off techincal skill and precision instead of commercials showing Marines fighting balrogs or whatever that lava monster was and Army comercials talking about how useful your training will be when you get out like the Army is some kind of VOTech school in ACUs. |

Quoted: Quoted: Canada has an army? Yup. And in my experience they are professional and well trained. I spoke with a few in Afghanistan and they were very mission oriented, reality based kinda guys. They carry the C7, which is a 20" flattop M16 with a CAR stock and an ELCAN sight. It seems to be a very practical setup. http://www.coltcanada.com/Images/c7-annot.gif Canada has fought hard alongside America in pretty much every little scuffle we've managed to get ourselves into. While we may disagree with some of our neighbor's internal politics, they are a staunch ally and a freer place than most nations. And these too! |

The Iltis VWs they used to have had such a rep for flipping in corners that most were torched instead of being sold off. |
