I know that the VA has a pretty strenuous inspection that must pass before they allow a mortgage, but assuming I am willing to cover those costs out of my own pocket, can the VA guarantee work on a foreclosure property?  Though I'd like to get an idea of how much any possibly required repairs will costs before making the offer - Not sure, but I believe that the VA inspection is done AFTER the offer is accepted, right?

A lot of foreclosures would not pass the VA inspection.
