Recently, I goofed up while setting up a webcam inside the home.  After flopping and twitching for a while, I got it to work.  I set up a free DYNDNS account, and now can access the webcam from outside my home, even if the IP address changes.

So, this got me thinking;  What OTHER things can DYNDNS be used for?

Can I access my router?
My home computer and its files?
What other home automation things are out there?  (I looked into getting the Trane remote controllable thermostat, but they want a monthly subscription to access it...)

pretty much anything on your private network. But I would do your homework before you start enabling stuff.
