Hello gents!!

Can I add very fine sand to asphalt sealer to get a better traction on my driveway? I have a driveway that goes from level to a decent incline that leads to the street. In the winter after I plow and put snow melt down I still get icy spots from the street run off.

I have diverted the street run off the best I could w/out digging trenches. Some of the driveway also has tree over hang that blocks the sunlight that would normally dry out those slick spots. Thanks

Yes, you can add sand, typically general purpose, not playground type. It is also known as sharp sand. That being said, it is more to maintain traction for foot traffic on wet, sealed pavement.
