I thought that the Liberal Party in Canada was handed an no confidence vote by the people and as a result, new elections are going to be held?

Is that accuarte?

If so, will the Conservatives win? Do they have a chance? Are Canadian Conservatives like USA Conservatives? Differences?

If the Liberals are losing support, then why are they planning to ban all handguns?

Are there parts of Canada planning to break away? Chances of that really happening?

I have read that the Liberal Party Leaders are giving the USA lip about how we should run our country? Accurate? Why is this happening now?

I am sooooooooo confused.

1.  Yes, there are apparently going to be elections.

2.  I dont know enough about Canadian politics to say whether their conservatives will win.

3.  Anti-Americanism is a winning political stance everywhere except for countries who have been recently saved by America.  Countries with 20-30 years under their belt can demagouge America quite nicely.  Even easier if you've never depended on or been saved by America, like Canada.

Most of the strong patriotic Canadians were killed in WWII or fled their country when they saw what was happening to it,  post World War II. (See Pierre and Margaret Trudeau )

Government policies  like creeping socialism, slavish devotion to the UN and multiculturalism (and all that Franco-phone crap) has pretty much devastated a once proud country.

Now that Canada has totally thrown open their borders to third-world shit hole types, the brilliant culture that produced Lorne Green, Leslie Nielsen and Celine Deon is now forced to compete with cultures that slaughter and sacrifice chickens in their dining rooms.

The Canadian military sucks  because they really don't need one,  They know the US will have no choice but to bail them out no matter how much they hate us and piss all over us because we are so close geographically . . After all , there  really is nothing up there of value to defend and their only export is  Movie and Pop  stars that  have already fled to Hollywood or Las Vegas. (It's a well known fact that actors flee Canada lest they be thrown in gulags to make movies for the Lifetime cable channel. )

Add all these factors up and all you are left with is a bunch of whiny socialists that aren't even ambitious enough to try to take over the world like the last batch of socialists that collapsed.

And don't tell me about the snipers in Afghanistan blah blah blah,  ,as that was another UN mission or the Canadians would be sitting that one out too.

Canada should just change it's name to West France and their military should throw away their cadpat and wear UN smurf blue.  Fuck 'em

Good shot != warrior

I'm sure tha the Canadians have some kick-ass warriors . . . WWII proved that.  I have two friends in Toronto who say that the liberals are just fucking the kids up so much that the next generation is pretty much a wash.

I lived in Canada for 5 years. My kids basically grew up there. Good times. The country has gotten much more liberal since we left in 1991. There is a general sense of inferiority/resentment that permeates the Canadian psyche. Sad. It really is a great country. The perfect place for rugged individual types but they tend to have something of a "subject" mentality and NO national heroes or real sense of national identity. It's just a "we're not the U.S." attitude and "Don't push us around". It's rough living next to the 8 million pound gorrila. BEAUTIFUL place though. My kids got to see things that the average person only sees in National Geographic.  ETA : One of the major problems I observed while living there was the constant wrangling between the three main groups. English speakers, Quebecois(sp?) and the First Nations(Indians). Then you have the divisions between B.C, Prairie, Ontario(the Californa/New York of Canada) and the Maritime Provinces. It was crazy and very tiring. BUT THE U.S. IS HEADED IN THE SAME DIRECTION WITH ALL OUR MULTICULTURALISM  !!!

Oh boy , here we go with the snipers again. I never said the Canuckistanis aren't good shots , Just that Canada in general  sucks and they are no ally of the US. The Canuckistani snipers were there at the behest of the UN , not the US.

Why would anyone defend Canada and their constant agitating against the US ? You guys must be Canadian ex-pats. I can't imagine an American defending the West French.

They lost a confidense motion, so Pariamentary Elections are to be held on Jan 24th.

Barring a major fuck-up on the part of Paul Martin (current Liberal PM), and I mean MAJOR, then the Liberals will win at least a minority government, and likely a majority.  The Liberals own Ontario, and will hand out enough table scraps in other ridings to hold onto power.

The Liberals are not losing any more support than they've already lost.  They could pile tax dollars into a huge pile and burn them, outlaw Christmas and start collective farms, and their popularity woundn't change a bit.  They are trying to regain lost support in Toronto, and perhaps Winnipeg by banning handguns.  They only need a few more seats to get a majority.  If they can eke out a grip on power by the slimmest possible technical margin, they will.  Legitimacy be damned.

Alberta, Quebec and Newfoundland all have strong seperatist leanings.  Quebec is very likely to leave confederation IMO.  The seperatist movement got a boost by the Bloc's sweep of the province last election, and no inroads have been made by any other party since.

Alberta and Newfoundland are likely to stay put, but aren't very happy with the status quo.

Paul Martin is trying to gain favour by appealing to nationalistic sentiments, and has made a few nasty comments about some trade disputes with the US.  The Liberal gov't has had very, very bad relations with the US since GW was elected, and this isn't really making things any worse.  It just appeals to the Liberal leanings of a lot of Canadians.

Canada is completely buggered.  I don't think there is any saving it.

Well, well... why do people always generalize?
I don't like the way my country is going either as far as libtard ideas go. I'm in Western Canada and there are alot of folks here that vote conservative. We just don't have the population base to overcome the Liberal rich Eastern Provinces who are full of same-sex mairrage, anti-gun and reffugee claiment pro-types.
I grew up in the same town of Mayerthorpe where those 4 RCMP officers were killed and I remember as a teenager in 1978-79 walking down mainstreet with a 12 g shotgun over my shoulder going to a friends house. Now I live in a big city, Edmonton, and I can't even clean my   m-14 in my own back yard cause some a** hole will call the cops.
My country is going down the toilet and I'll vote and fight best I can but my goal is to eventually go where there are some like minded people (like you guys).
So don't think all of us Canadians are Fked up.

Oh, by the way... I can shoot a ten inch target all day with iron sites only, prone supported with my m-14 out to 600 meters.

Forgetting someone?

John C Garand maybe?

Another Canadian apologist that brings up another Canadian who's family had the sense to flee Canada when he was TEN.

<Snip>
John C. Garand
born Jan. 1, 1888, St. Rémi, Quebec, Can.
died Feb. 16, 1974, Springfield, Mass., U.S.

John Cantius Garand   Canadian-born U.S. firearms engineer, inventor of the M1 semiautomatic rifle, with which U.S. infantrymen fought in World War II and the Korean War.

In 1898 Garand's family moved to Connecticut, where he learned the machinist's trade in textile mills. As a young man he worked in precision-tool factories in Providence, R.I., and New York City. During World War I he designed a lightweight, fully automatic machine rifle; it was rejected by the U.S. Army but earned Garand a position in 1918–19 as a gun designer with the National Bureau of Standards. He was then transferred to the Springfield (Mass.) Armory, where he was put to work designing a semiautomatic replacement for the Springfield bolt-action repeater. In 1920 he became a U.S. citizen. (edit by weptek911 , invented the Garand 17 years later)

Then you're to blame for John Kerry, Ted Kennedy, John Conyers, Murtha and the like?
and we Arcommers were to blame for 8 years of Klinton.

After all, They were all elected by the majority of US citizens.
It's shallow thinking to put everybody in a single class based only on their governments political view.
