I want to have a .38 super "race" gun built from my Colt .38 super. Thinking about sights, a comp, front checkering, scope mount, red dot, mag well etc... Can anyone suggest a decent builder that doesn't have a long waiting list/turnaround(over 1 year)?

If you wanting to "race" IPSC, I would buy aready made STI. Your Colt will not be a high cap and therefore, unfortunately, not "competitive" in open division. Buying the STI probably will not cost you anymore than custom building your Colt. Plus it is available "off the shelf"from Shooter's Connection. I'd keep that Colt as is. It is a damn fine gun in original configuration. My 2 cents.

What he said he some sound advise.
I have watched people take their Limted gun make it any OPEN pistol and then kick themself in the ass. Because they have to buy another gun to shoot limted if they want to and it seems more and more people are going both ways.
Some of the guys I shoot with like this guys work .
