Just wondering...  I have files that I want to burn but they are too big for a cd...

Well I am trying to burn to them, but the software (record now) doesn't recognize the media.  I do have a DVD burner...

I think you have to get DVD/CD burning software, or you have an older version that doesn't recognize DVDs.  I'm using Sonic, but I have also used Nero.

also, make sure your burner supports the type of DVD you are using.

DVD-R
DVD-RW
DVD+R
DVD+RW
etc

some older ones cant  burn +RW's


eta: if you are using XP, you dont need extra software, just drag and drop then "burn these files to DVD" or something like that.
