I don't know how to edit a post maybe one of you guys could help with that but what I should have siad is WILL i be able to put per-ban parts on my post-ban gun after the sunset.

my guess is NO. it would be like admitting that the law was useless in the first place. the gubment isn't going to do that.

IF the ban is not renewed, and that's a BIG "if", then, yes, the whole pre/post-ban issue, as it relates to the 1994 Krime Bill, will go away. You'd still need to abide by NFA rules, but you'd be able to add pistol grips, flash suppressors, bayo lugs, folding/collapsable stocks, etc. to your heart's content.
Unfortunately, instead of the ban expiring (best case), it's a lot more likely that the ban will be extended (typical case), or replaced by something worse (bad to VERY bad). -Troy |

It will be a big issue in the election, and the 2002 elections will decide who is in office to make the decision to extend it or not. -Troy |

Troy, That may be a good thing.
If Bush gets back in to office he is scott free to do the right thing. The NRA and guns rights help him in 2000,the 2004 elections could be much the same. What we start now could be a big help as well. It's a risk but if we show that us guys with post-ban guns still have 30rd mags and just about every thing a per-ban has. It's a risk cuz this will make the left want a new even biger ban but maybe we can make the hole ban thing look like a wast of time. |

The mag capacity ban is part of the 1994 Krime Bill that will, unless renewed, sunset on Sept 13, 2004. Quoted: This may sound stupid, but a pre-ban ar cannot use a usgi 30 rnd mag? The Krime Bill only deals with possession of hi-cap mags. If you can legally possess a hi-cap mag, you can use it in any gun, pre- or post-ban, that it will fit in. -Troy |

Be Careful. The liberals in state legislatures are scrambling to pass clones of the federal law. This is so that if the federal law sunsets, the state copy will still be on the books. The state copies do not sunset.
