Im about to order some Oakleys ( govt order) and since it's all on line I cant try them on first. I have a relatively large noggin so I don't want to get a a dainty pair, but don't want a pair thats' too big and gaudy. Here are my choices, what do you guys think?
Flack Jackets XLJ and regular Half Jackets XLJ and regular SI strait jackets Gascans SI Fives 3.0 or 2.0 SI Bottle Caps SI Minute 2.0 Monster Dog or Pup I have no idea what the 2.0, 3.0 Pup or dog mean? Yikes, I don't even know what those models are.
I have Oakley "XX"s and they fit my gigantic (size 8 hat) head fine. Anyway you could run to a sporting goods store or something real quick and try them on? PS - I'd post links or pics to get more feedback. |

Half Jackets are the SHIT......I have a pair of HJ and 3 pair of M-frames and just bought a pair of half wire and the HJ's get my vote for the best feel and fit !

I have a head like a watermelon and flak jackets, half jackets and monster dogs all fit. those are the only ones I've tried from your list.

I use the regular half jacket with good results. I like the regular half jacket for the more rounded lens. YMMV

Speaking of Oakley's, are the titanium versions worth the price upgrade on the Whisker model for example?
I mean the standard model is light to begin with, just curious as I'm in the market. |

Well I also have half-jacket XLJs somewhere around here. They are ok, fit pretty well even on my big head. Down the road get yourself some Juliettes you won't be disappointed. |

Stay away from the Minutes for sure. They're for smaller faces. The Monster Dog would be a good one. I have a pair of Fives that I really like also. I wear a 7 1/4 hat. I think most of the Jackets will have interchangeable lenses.

Fives 3.0. I've been wearing the fives for years. Best Oakley design IIHO. Tough, wrap around and did I say tough. I beat the shit out of my shades and have only managed to break one pair and I think they just deteriorated from sun exposure. I'm outside all day working and toss them on the seat, stuff them in my pocket, whatever. Classic design too. Kind of like updated wayfarers. Oh yeah, the 3.0 on the fives (and prob the others like software) just means updates. The newer ones are bigger and more wrap around.

Here is a pic for some perspective on size. I have a 8 3/4 inch head, and a thick face
 I love the Monster Dogs, they are perfect for riding a motorcycle because they isolate your eyes from the wind. But, your eyes do get a little sweaty after a while because of lack of airflow if you're standing still. I love 'em!

I have (old) Eye Jackets, Straight Jackets, and Monster Dogs, and the Dogs are my favorite.
