The Air Resources Board was expected to pass this key piece of the California's 2006 climate law, called AB32, at its meetings Thursday or Friday, with the hope that other states and nations will follow the lead of the world's eighth largest economy. "AB32 was passed primarily to fill the vacuum created by the failure of Congress to pass any kind of climate or energy legislation for many years now," said Mary Nichols, the air board's chairwoman. "The goal was to lead by example, and being a leader you have to bring others along with you." California's cap-and-trade rules would set up the largest U.S. carbon trading market as the way to enforce the state's gradually tightening Good way to chase what remaining businesses are left in the state. |

They will never learn and, I'm afraid to say, the situation appears hopeless.

Nope, the libtards there are hopeless. At least in Michigan, we voted out almost all the libtards on the ballots. We are at least trying to get back on track. California just keeps going on and on and on with this libtard mania. |

Uhm, no, that most certainly is not leadership, sweety. Being a leader is a bit more like doing something first, and showing others its a good way to go about something, and them following you in whatever endeavors your doing. Or, I guess leadership is grabbing people by the neck and telling them they've got no choice. |

I would like to see who is setting up the cap-n-scam system. Is it the same group that Al-Gore was involved with that just failed at the federal level?
Also, how much money did the Govt officials who voted for this receive from the said cap-n-scam company? |
|
Interesting. Arizona takes the reigns on controlling illegal immigration across its borders because of a "vacuum created by the failure of Congress" and they're getting sued by the Feds. Not so much with environmental issues?

Last year Toyota pulled the plug at the CA Tacoma plant and moved it to TX.
CA's sole existence is to provide the large number of electoral votes for the DNC... Its all by design. Glad I left, twice |

Hear that "giant sucking sound"?
That is business and wealth hauling ass out of the state. Very few people have any idea what this thing is going to do to the economy of the state. 60% increase in the cost of fuel 50-75% increase in utility bills ~$10,000 to the cost of a new home And that is just the tip of the iceberg. Studies show this will cost the average household almost $4,000 a year. If you are curious http://www.sbaction.org/get_resource.php?table=resource_kmqap4_18z4ys&id=kmqaq1_1ed1wo Funny little aside, CARB did an internal study that would be laughable if it weren't for the gravity of the situation. An independent study found CARBs study to be full of shit. CARB then commissioned an outside firm to do a study to refute the independent one. The outside firm agreed with the independent study (FAIL). |

What I found interesting in another thread was a member from California who thought it was appropriate for the rest of the country to volunteer to bailout California because that State gets less back in Federal taxes than they pay.
That is the same for Michigan, we get less back, percentage wise, than California IIRC, yet that member has never offered to bailout Michigan's economy. Not one word about it......not one whit. Kind of tells you the mindset of many, many Californians. I'm sorry to say that California may be, seriously, hopeless. ETA: Overall, for the period 1981 through 2005, Michigan has received less back from the Federal government, percentage wise, than California. http://www.taxfoundation.org/research/show/22685.html |

Quoted: They just can stop fucking themselves can they? The problem is, they don't even care. The success or failure of California does not concern them one whit. They only care about 'saving the planet' and the 'blue balled tit warbler' to assuage their own guilt and to suck more money into the governing machine. |
|
California has been heading down this path for a long time.
Most of their pain is self induced. I wish them good luck and thanks for pushing more businesses into other states. Max |

If California goes into COMPLETE rust belt mode ,and a Vast Pacific war starts America WON'T be able to save the World again (Just hope We can save ourselves)
|
|
That's their evidence. I believe it and everyone I know believes it, therefore it must be so.
"California is still facing tough economic times and people have asked whether we can afford to do this now," she said at the start of the meeting. "It is our belief ... and well supported by the public at large, that adoption of a program like this is California's insurance against future recessions."
Click your heels together three times for good measure, Dorthy. |

Give me a year and I'm out of this place. Then let the earthquakes (or the big one begin).

To these people, creating human suffering by design is how they will reach their objective.
They are not stupid, it is a matter of what they value more. |
|
Calm down everyone. You're being way too harsh.
Once everyone leaves Cali it will make a lovely national park. |
|
cool. Arizona (chandler specifically) is taking steps to atract more industry including tech industries. We could use some more good companies here and calis profits are belong to us. |

Quoted: What I found interesting in another thread was a member from California who thought it was appropriate for the rest of the country to volunteer to bailout California because that State gets less back in Federal taxes than they pay. ^^^ not going to be true for very long on their current path. unless they stop the commie shit there will be no rich people left to pay the tax bills. |
|
Sooo CA is basically so liberal and with their heads up their asses that they would rather pass dumbass green save the planet bills and drive jobs and companies away from the state in the name of being 'environmentally progressive'?

Well, eco-marxist Mary Nichols has certainly convinced me that there is no choice in the matter. There is only one solution to the relentless anti-human, anti-business policies of her and her ideological cohorts.

the worst part is these people get re-elected, over and over again. i'm beginning to think I'm the crazy one. Expecting different results, while the same shit go's on. Good thing I live in a conservative state. |
|
I moved from the Midwest and lived out there for 6 years. Without a doubt I will say, California is permanently fucked, it cannot be saved. The culture there lives in fantasy land and as long as they can breathe air it will exist. The business atmosphere is outright hostile. State and local government not only squeeze the life out of them but would come in with bullshit regulations just to fuck with them.
Even worse it is the only place that will EXPORT their beliefs when they relocate. What liberal problems we have in Arizona directly correlate to the people coming from California. I always welcome a true conservative import, liberals get the fuck out. |

The company I worked for was run out too. They made us change all of our lighting and AC system. It cost millions. This was holding our feet to the fire under threat of rolling blackouts because CA would not build any new power plants. Now there is a power plant on the hill behind the vacant building I spent 14 years working in, along with a second one a few blocks away. We were profitable up until the very end. The Oregon based company was just tired of the .gov.
I helped load the trucks and locked the doors. I took my severance check, sold my house and got the fuck out of that liberal shit hole. (AZ conservative import that votes) I can haz tax stampz too. |
|
This past election, we had a petition that would have kept the cap and tax thing shelved unless the economy was good. CA voters rejected it.

I drive a truck for a living. I will no longer go into Cali with a commercial vehicle.
The no idle natzi's ( I mean police), will give you a ticket while its 105 degrees for idleing your truck to stay cooll ,all the while , they idle there car while giving you said ticket. If you leave your dog or kid in the car on a hot day you go to jail but the assholes say its a ok to do that to a trucker. I know other states have no idle laws but they are pretty lax when there are temperature extremes. |
