Wrapping up a week here with the wife, did a couple of days in Monterrey, a couple of days in Napa, and finished things off in San Francisco. Spent most of today driving the 1 north of San Fransisco. The country is unbelievably beautiful. Seriously, might be the most beautiful place in the world.
Too bad it's spoiled by all the libtards here . |

Quoted: Too bad it's spoiled by all the libtards here . That's what I came here to say. It is indeed a beautiful state. Like Cuba is a beautiful island. |
Certainly one of the most beautiful places in the US. I lived there most of my life and want my ashes scattered there in a specific place.
LOL. Yeeaah. Spoiled by all the libtards. And Illegals. And Taxes.
And Cops. And Criminals. It's funny that you just discovered it. Colorado can match it for scenic beauty, but not for weather. Not even close. It is indeed a beautiful place when you have a Company Hertz Rental and your Company Platinum Amex. I wish I could have lived in Cali in the 1950's |
If all the other states would bring their libtards back home this state would be conservitive.
If it were not for the massive amount of migration here from Mexico and from the rest of the U.S. (all of the Leftists elsewhere seemed to have come here for some reason) in the 1950s-1970s California would be a very different place compared to what it is. It wouldn't be as crowded or urban and its politics would be way further to the Right compared to today. Once the above people and their children formed a majority they actually changed the Constitution here, and not for the better. Pre-war, California in many regions of the State and in terms of its laws and politics would be unrecognizable compared to post-war California, especially from the 1970s onwards. I wish I was around to see it as it was. If it weren't for this major demographic change, it is my contention that California would be the number one State in the entire Union. It has everything else going for it.

I spent 3 weeks in San Diego/La Jolla area 10 years ago...perfect weather, beautiful scenery, great food, nightlife, ........shit...forgot what my point was going to be...
It's a great place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.

Cali is beautiful. Sadly it's contolled by libtard fucks in the Bay Area and LA.

Your defense of Cali is admirable, but naive and myopic. I Lived about 30% of the last decade in Cali, and I enjoyed it. With a company Amex, a week at a time it is tolerable. Pleasant even. Now sit down for this: You have the worst Illegal problems. The Worst politics and the The Worst Taxes and Deficit. (How in the fuck did you manage both simultaneously?) Other States are close in certain categories, but you are the worst over all. It's an objective fact. Why try to deny it? YOU should be the one trying to change it, instead of burying your head in the sand. FWIW, Cali Cops are not the worst, They are better than maybe 20 other States. So you have that going for you.... Which is nice... |

Just got stationed out here. Weather is perfect for hiking and running. Beautiful scenery and lots to do. Other than that... screw this place.

Totally changed the charater of the state, to include its politics. I don't know why so many people of the same stripe moved to California of all places, but its natural beauty and weather are the only things I can think of, but many would have never experienced it before. |
The beautiful part of Cali' is the desert and up north by Shasta.
I've never been there but I'd make it a point to live there based on the weather alone if it weren't for the polictical climate.

I think the current one's predecessor was our second constitution, but I can't recall off the top of my head right now. |

California is a gorgeous state. To bad it is infested with to many "Big City Thinkers".
I spent some my early years in California during the mid to late 70's there. I can remember my Dad saying what a liberal shit hole it was back then. I can remember few tears being shed upon moving to Ohio of all places.
Some of the contributing factors that caused California to go down hill is the entertainment industry was there causing an undue influence to society. The very favorable weather conditions, the mass migration of people starting during the depression later coupled by the influx of GI's post WW2 many of whom were gay and settled there along with an even bigger amount of disaffected young men. Put those factors together and it did nothing but provide the frame work for what was known as the counter culture movement of the 1960's which as we all know what happened once those dregs took over. I lived in fear while on active duty of getting orders to that state. I watched my father for years come back from business trips from there sick and pissed off every time. Every time I got drug to California, I hated every minute of it. I would also have to say I never thought California was all that pretty and I've been all over the state. You want to see pretty, come to Idaho, BTW, if you're from California, take some of your shit heads back with you, they're neither needed or wanted here. |
Northern California is one of the nicest parts scenically in the country.
The weather is certainly beautiful, but there are many more areas of the country that are much more beautiful than California (as a whole). But it does depend on what part of California that you are talking about. The Sierra Nevadas? Excellent. SoCal? Nice human scenery on the beaches, but otherwise it's nothing special.

True....I hit the left coast twice a year..........Laguna Seca......Carmel............Monterrey.........RT 1.....SF......I think the problem is the taxes, but everybody wants their rights there, right to fish, right to hunt, right to drive fast, right to smoke pot, right to ban guns , right to have guns .........right to use tobacco...right to not be exposed to tobacco....but it won't be solved in our lifetime...but they do in one way or another believe in their rights...... |

While I would never live there, there is alot of pretty landscape to see.
I really want to get to Point Reyes National Seashore someday. Many miles of untouched beach. http://www.nature.nps.gov/air/webcams/parks/porecam/porecam.cfm |

Certainly one of the most beautiful places in the US. I lived there most of my life and want my ashes scattered there in a specific place. Ditto, minus the ashes thing! Lived in Hollywood Hills when younger, when Mom divorced my stepfather we moved to Irvine, then Dana Point, and I'll tell ya, politics aside, I love that state. Beach, and surfing were literally a 2 minute bike trip away, could hop in the jeep and be skiing in Big Bear in about an hour and a half, drive about 45 minutes and be shooting in the desert. If you're into outdoorsy things, Ca is definitely a great place to live, and the weather (rainy season aside) is awesome, far better than here in this god forsaken shit hole. Maybe one day the tide will turn, and the state will have been sufficiently flushed, and I can move back. |
Born and raised in CA. What hasn't been choked with legislation is being choked by oppressive taxes. You can't even smoke a cigar on the beach for crying out loud. We left a yr and a half ago and haven't regretted one minute of it.
The people of CA got what they voted for. good luck with that. |
I've seen it on Nat Geo TV and the Discovery Channel...no need to waste my time and money to actually go there.

Rather simple for any one with just half a brain to figure that one out having spent about 10-seconds thinking about it. The federal government has been for 30 years fighting California's efforts. Arizona is following our lead 25 years later and so far, getting away with it. The federal government has been determined to thwart every single effort (and I've documented many of the biggest here over the last 12 years) to stem the tide as if the other 46 states want the four southern Mexican touching states destroyed. The cost of illegal aliens is 10-14 BILLION dollars to the American tax payers of California. Solve that math problem and we're in the black by 4-8 billion dollars. |

Yes it is.
I'm seriously considering moving back there (I was born and raised around LA) but I haven't really come to terms with some of the restrictions I'd have to put up with since I last lived there in the 70's. I dunno, I'm gonna pull the trigger in the next year or so so I guess I'd better start checkin' out what I'll need to leave back here with my brothers. |
why not just ignore or piss off the idiot ploiticians and liberals?
its pretty fun to do. |
Lived in so cal in the 70's. Left in the late 80's. I miss the weather but will never go back. Besides why would I want to live in Mexico anyway.
My favorite part of the State, and yes sadly spoiled by libtards. I've been trying to get to Monterey at least once or twice a year since I moved. I'm glad you're having fun
California really is a nice state, it's so great, there really is no reason to go anywhere else, everything is right here
sounds silly always hearing people bash CA |
Bet you want to play with some guns when you finally get home though.
Wish I'd known an arfcommer was coming through. I live in Monterey and gun people are scarce.
To bad we can not get a better voting block to move in, and make it the State it can be.

Don't forget Yosemite; one of the most beautiful places on earth. It's how I picture Eden.
Crying shame about their politics. |
